well im pretty organised for xmas this year, surprisingly as ive not long had my 4th baby. but ive got all my families and oh`s families totaling 25 presents, im doing the £1 a day til xmas for my oh`s pressy, ive bought the 4 birthday presents i need before xmas and also my eldest sons presents who will be 8 in november, so ive just got the kids to concertrate on now. im so organised that when my parent came to visit last week i`d wrapped all that side of the families pressies , written the xmas cards so gave it all to my mum to take home lol 3mths early. anyway gives me time now to work on the kids stuff. x

Excuse me while I just put my jaw back into place, u are amazing, esp after the 4th baby.......... you put us all to shame. I've got all bday presents wrapped to Dec, but not started on xmas. x
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • mum2one, its only cause i have to be, i seem to have very little time with 4, but every so often i sneak into town and leave my husband home with all the children, just need to get away from all that washing!!! so i take this opportunity to get some xmas pressies. have had some great bargains from the £1 shop. thing is aswell as the kids lists are getting longer and as they change there mine alot it`s easier to leave them til nearer. i shall get baby a gym and bumbo chair, my 2yr old girl is really into barbie some me and my oh are making her a barbie house as the ones you buy these days are small and flimsy, i have bought a couple of sets which have suitable furniture to go in it just need a sofa. then i have a 4 yr old and 8yr old. the younger one tends to be influenced by his older brother so will leave him till nearer. x
One day I will live in a cabin in the woods

Guess you do need to be organised, gd for you sneaking off to do the shopping, although I love dd to bits, going shopping with her is not ideal. She has now decided she wants a bottle of Baileys for xmas, and she intends to ask Father Christmas!!

Ha,ha,ha :rotfl: That is so fab!

Sorry to butt in on your thread, but can I join? I've been subscribed to this thread for over a week now, and I love it. I am trying to stick to the Organised Christmas plan, and I feel pretty pleased with myself. My 3 boys 6, 5 and 3 would like a joint santa gift of Guitar Hero Band Edition, so as not to take too much of their "santa" allowance! So I've pre-ordered that tonight.
    • I've organised and costed the teachers gifts, I have seen lovely mugs in M & S for £5 for 4 of them, and I am hoping to use the £5 M & S voucher that I should get for getting the insurance quote Martin mentioned in his newsletter this week. I am going to fill them with marshmallows, sticks of horlicks, hot choc, ovaltine and a few Lindt sweets and cello them up with a white pull bow and mini whisk attached to the front, so they are coming in at under £4 each :j .
    • I have cleaned out my bedroom cupboard and have got a christmas box, with some bits and pieces look out in it.
    • We are having christmas dinner at my mums this year, so I don't have to worry about that.
    • I work at the local college and have taken home A4 paper boxes with lids to wrap and make hampers with.
    • I am giving my nieces 9 and 7, pyjama parties in a box. I intend to fill them with Hannah Montana PJs, Hannah Montana DVD, 2 x Pyjama Club Books, Popcorn, Hair brush, nail varnish, small bottle of coke, penny sweets, and have cross stitched a small cushion with "pyjama party" stitched on them.
    • I am giving our friends and SIL and BIL's a "Night at the Movies" Box, with DVD, popcorn, small bottle of wine, bottle of beer, pringles, chocolate and again small cushion with "night at the movies" stitched on it.
    • My dad is a music lover, so he's getting a music hamper in a box. I am biding on music manuscript on ebay, will get fiddle strings, guitar strings, plectrums, bottle of wine, decent writing pen and have downloaded a free treble clef(SP?) cross stitch pattern for a cushion/perhaps gift tag for him.
I am so inspired by you all, I have some more ideas, but I am shattered and am going to bed soon.

Oh and I know what you mean about christmas birthdays, my DS1 birthday is on 27th December:snow_grin , I was put into hospital on xmas eve 2001 with pre-eclampsia and had to be monitored for 48 hours and then induced on boxing day, it wasn't the best christmas, as you can imagine. I do love his birthday almost as much as christmas though, because it breaks up the lull between christmas and new year. :rudolf:

    Nite, nite x
  • Hi all went to the seaside at the weekend and went in the £1 shop and got a Christmas framed chalk board which says days till Christmas on it so I can fill it in every morning!! I also got my eldest a Santa letter writing kit, with loads of Christmas stationary, a special envelope, Christmas stickers and a Christmas pencil, so I'm looking forward to doing that with him nearer the time, and I also got a card making kit, as I like to do loads of crafts and baking with him at Christmas so he can make these 4 his cousins.has anyone seen any metalic plain paper or kids Hannah montana or high school musical paper and boys paper at good prices?when is everyone starting their Christmas cake? Do you think that will appear in one of the weeks on organised Christmas?

Have to confess re xmas cake and puddings i buy them!. There is agorgeous bakers in Dawlish South Devon, cant forget the name "Gays Creamery" their xmas cakes are really well priced, we get 2 small ones as mum loves marzipan and icing (I hate it!!). Their xmas pudds are fab as well, have one from there, and one from Buckfast Abbey made with the monks special ingredient Buckfast Wine, their puds are nicer than Harrods and Harvey Nics.

Just discovered a downside to being organised. Bought my fella a 'gorillapod' for his camera yesterday cause they're half price in Asda. Today he mentioned he's gonna buy himself a tripod. How do I talk him out of it without letting drop I've already got him one? The rule in our family is, if you see something you want you can't buy it between October & Christmas day, it goes on your list...I'm a week early to use that on him!

Hide his card, his wallet.........worth a try!!
How about the dutiful partner and suggest that if he tells you what he wants ur search through the internet, and have a look at cash back sites......this should buy you a couple of days......then say you have ordered will take 7 to 10 days.......this then outs you in the Oct xmas slot!!
