  • Hello all. I admit to lurking in this thread for a week and have had to join to say a big THANK YOU to you all - I now feel normal!!! :T For the last few years (having had two kids) I have become more and more organised over Christmas but have had to hide my obsession with it! My friends look at me as if I'm mad when I say I've done most of the Christmas shopping by September (or earlier!). I had many hours of fun last year planning, cooking and freezing meals ahead of time but admitted it to no-one. So at last I have a place where I can come and be myself! Love the Organized Christmas site - this year my house WILL be tidy!!

    Thank you!!!

Say it once, say it loud,

    I'm a Christmas nutter and I'm proud!

Shopping done, cards bought, wrapping mostly done, Christmas travel booked, wine bought and delivered, apartment clean, freezer steadily being emptied as I eat through it all ... It's all good.

Oh heavens, I've been slipping this week. Hadn't gotten much done as we've just moved DS from his cot to a bed - and I spend most of the evening making sure he's still in bed. And naptime - that lovely blissful 2 hour time when he slept happily in his cot while I got things done - is no more! He just is not wanting to sleep during the day with no cot. *sob* But we couldn't put it off any longer as he is starting to climb and we didn't want him to climb the side of the cot and fall. Hopefully he'll adjust quickly and I'll get back on track.

The big task this week is clearing out the dining room so it can be turned into Christmas Central. It has all my craft stuff set up in there, but also all the household paperwork, so I'm sorting, filing, and shredding the paper monster right now. Then the cards can begin. Yay!

:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:
  • Spoke to the OH last night about putting some of his wages aside ready for Christmas and it was then that he remembered that he will get two pay days this month!! He gets his first pay at his new job and his last ever Army pay!! So we are putting all of his Army wage away ready for Christmas and then add maybe a little extra from his next couple of pays and that is it! Then I can budget accordingly for the pressies I need to buy :j

OH does think I'm made organising so much now when we have no children and we are not hosting the Christmas Day festivities hehe. I am making my mum a set of place cards that she can keep as she always forgets to have any and then wishes she did lol.

  • Sarah - I think that's why I'm demotivated cos we've just had builders re doing our floor in the kitchen/dining room and so there's still mess left from then and I just can't be bothered with it.

I'd rather be making something or looking for ebay bargains for christmas - but I guess it feels stressful cos I know the cleaning needs to be done so I will get started - I WILL! (punching fist into air) - have found the countdown timer on my phone so I'm going to start timing myself on different jobs to hurry me up a bit. I'm better if I've got deadlines to work to. Should I make a list first of what I'm going to clean:rotfl: !!!

Right I'll get on with it
  • I have just finished sorting through the toy boxes to clear them out for all the new shiny toys. But need to get them so new ones, now I've redone the bedroom does anyone know where you can get personalised ones?I've also just sorted through the wardrobes, what needs to be chucked out, and what can go to the car boot next weekend. Really really wanna kick on with our bedroom and the big cupboard in the boys room, but it just seems like too harder work!! Lol then I need to do the bills! What ever happened to spending your day off work doing fun things? Oh well I guess once its done then I can crack on with the shopping!

Reading through these posts have made me realise how easy I have it at home regarding cleaning and tidying. Me and bf are both neat freaks, constantly cleaning and tidying and also having no children makes a big difference. So if anybody wants to hire me out for the christmas seasons to clean your home I am more then happy too :D

I love a good old clear out of stuff then giving the room a deep cleen....... God I am sad:p
  • Shevs I'm just the same!! There is only me and the OH and I'm a neat freak too! The OH calls me Monica from friends because I'm so bad! I think its because I grew up in a messy home that was being renovated so there was always bricking and drilling and furniture moving going on and a mess always resulted. I believe thats why I have to have things clean now, that and the OCD :D
