  • I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking ahead to Christmas, this is my busiest time not only do we have Christmas but all the birthdays too! I'm going to be super organised this year and get the kids to make on line lists that family and friends can buy from through a great site www.whatidlove.co.uk. It's free to use the service and you can get a list for everyone. I hope the kids don't think that they will get everything!!

    Hoping for snow??

mum2one - I see you have been batch cooking and freezing - will they be alright until christmas - need to start doing this but wasn't sure about how long you could freeze certain things, you sound like a pro. is there anything that won't freeze well? any advice welcomed - pinkladymel was wondering about this too I think.

Hopefully they will last to xmas, but I put them in sandwich bags and write the date, usually allow 3 mth maximum for them.
Touch wood ive not had any freezing disasters:rotfl: since I tried to make homemade fudge- it took a week to get all the remains out! x

I think I heard that once before about the max is 3 months - so I could start cooking now - cos I think it would be great just going to the freezer and puling out a shepherds pie or a lasagne and just defrosting then heating it up. Would save so much time and hassle.

Thou by xmas - there all be gone! I have these batch bakes modes, and just go for it, thou the floor always end up in a mess, best thing is, as I've got a spinal injury, i cant bend down, so someone else has to do the cleaning up!

please someone - kick me up the bum, a bit unmotivated in the cleaning department.

Shall we call in Kim & Agie????

    ;) (Only kidding....)

Hope you get sorted, I would invite you round to mine but I have half the garden in my house (as the builders are due) and all my Christmas Decorations out (no not putting them up yet just checking what i've got and what i need and re boxing them ready) :o

I feel the same way as you scattymam1, total demotivated after finding out the builders were coming and that I would have to put garden stuff away, and I can't even put any in the loft at the mo as I'm having loft insulation put in next week

So don't feel bad, I bet your house looks great compared to mine:o

So you are not counting then ;)

Well think i may have a look in the bedroom and see what I can do up there. Hmm my problem is that sleep seems like a good idea at the moment but don't think that will help with the Christmas planning.
