Claffy's I am in Manchester too!!!! Now when all the grottos come out I will shout ''Claffy's did you get the job'' to see if your there!!!! The minute me and Mel open our grotto you can have pride of place as HEAD ELF!!!!!
Yay I'm going to get myself a mug printed with head elf on now. Watch this space.
:rotfl:
I hope for my childrens sake I don't see any elf costumes in the shops.
My family already think I am a bit mental  when it comes to christmas.0 -
I worked as an elf two Christmases running, and then a third year as a photographer in the same place.
It's harder work than you think - I was working a 12 hour shift, then costuming/makeup time and 1hr travel in each direction. And then you'd think that people would be in a good mood meeting Santa, but they're not. More than half the kids I brought into meet Santa hated the very socks off him.
I can just imagine. Knowing me I'd get some bratty kids kicking me in the shins lol
Do you get paid for it or is it voluntary?
How sad am I that I would do it for free. :j

I got paid decent money to do it - it's much harder work than you'd think. Most kids by the time they got to Santa were completely overstimulated, overtired and oversugared, and their parents were feeling the strain. I was permanently bruised from mid-shin downwards from nasty children kicking me, about a third of the parents were really, really rude, and the constant noise and pressure to be smiling and cheerful no matter what was really hard to take.
Then there were the bad parents - one child, maybe 3 years old, maybe 4, was so excited to meet Santa that she wet herself. Her mother kicked her unconscious, and I had to hold Santa back from doing the same to her.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
Three gifts left to buy0 -
Eeep. So I am starting the plan this week & am already 3 weeks behind! I made my holiday planner, sorted my budget and set up a Xmas savings account today. It's not much, but it's a start.
Later this week I also want to write my 'shop at home first' list - I have loads of toilettries and stuff I'll never get round to using that will make perfectly nice gifts for someone else! Might have a bash at that gift wrap station too...0 -
Ooh make sure you post pics of the Tardis cushions and the adipose teddies.
My ds is dr who mad too.
Have you see what those adipose teddies go for on ebay?
Not even looked on ebay, but i'm sure they are expensive, but all things Dr Who are expensive
I've just bought 2 x white fleece blankets to make Adipose with and a ball of black wool for doing the face.
Need to get the bits for the tardis cushions yet so not 100% sure what I will be using yet.
Will post pic's when they are done ( If I can figure out how to do it:o )
Thanks
Sarah

Hi everyone, i am following the Houseworks Holiday Plan, so for this week the focus is on Master Bedroom and Christmas cards. I have decluttered, cleaned and rearranged my bedroom today and it is looking so much better. I am now on making christmas card lists and have made labels for the envelopes using my computer, i have printed them off and they sit proudly in my christmas folder.
Thanks everyone for the Organised Christmas website - I am loving being organised!!! lol lolLove a charity shop bargain0
