I really need to get an order in with half cost, before the things I want go out of stock. With my studio order I'm going to half it and get my dad to get half for me and then I'll get two tins of free roses instead of one and then give them to two people for presents.Yeay.
Ooh I like the sound of the orient express trip - me and my sis in law are hopefully having a center parcs spa day trip if they go back on offer beginning of Dec - my dad gave me the money for it for my birthday. Love my dad. It's good to have something like that to look forward to as well as christmas that is.
Well I'm pooped - I painted the last two walls of my kitchen tonight and cleaned the floor thoroughly(and then put the bin out so I can have a lazy morning) - none of these on the list with organized christmas this week but I feel so much better now it's done. One more step to being organized. So I can get back into things tomorrow - need to catch up with the living room and get onto the entrance way week. Have to read up tomorrow on freezing foods so I make sure I get it right.
Anyone doing the pumpkin sweet parcels for halloween. I love that idea and I think it is quite money saving. We end up spending more than I'd like at halloween and I always end up giving them more than one thing so I don't look stingey. But these parcels could just be filled with a few penny chews or smart price allsorts or something cheap and I'm sure the orange tissue paper(I know somewhere I can get this cheap) and pipe cleaners wouldn't come to much or could you use something else instead of pipe cleaners ??!!something (dare I say) cheaper. ( I get about 20 kids normally). You could draw on some faces too with black marker. Here it is if you haven't already seen them:

You can still pick up some lovely bargains for xmas at woolworths 50% OFF LAST MARKED PRICE ON SOME SALE STUFF.I left a load of stuff at the checkout last week as none of it was included in that promotion but left there happy this morning with 2 big bags full of bargains. At the underwear section I picked up little xmas stocking with 2 baby bibs and 2 prs socks inside, all xmassy designs for £1 the lot, marked at £2 so I get for £1 at the till.
Also got some little knitted bags in dump bins at the tills, they were amongst hats and gloves.Marked down to £2 so I got them for £1 each at the till.I am going to use them as party bags in Jan for my DD,s birthday party.Just put some sweeties inside and the bag is the gift.
I also bought, not in that promo though, pks of 2 glass garden baubles, marked down to £1.50 but came up at £1 at the till. They come with t-lights which are to be put inside them for outdoor use but I bought some LCD t-lights at poundland to use instead so I can tie them onto my xmas tree with a lovely big bit of red ribbon."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
Thank you for the tip on stamps - will head to the PO this afternoon when I get DD1 from school!
Love the Halloween treat bags - will definitely try them.
I wanted to wrap more presents last night but OH didn't get home until 8.30pm so by the time we had eaten and cleared up I was too tired. Never mind - will try again tonight.
I was at the dentist this morning and had to make an appointment for three months time - so I said to the receptionist "Can I make it for after Christmas? Get that out the way first - oh what a thought!" What I wanted to really say was "Can we make it for after Christmas because I'm really excited about it and I don't want a trip to the dentist to spoil it?!" :rotfl: Does anyone else find themselves 'covering up' their excitement or is it just me? Should I be more open?!!The great declutter 2010Money neutral and thrifty gifty for Christmas 2010 :xmassmile0 -
Well bought some stocking fillers today
.
Like the idea of doing some hand made tags and thought about doing 1st and 2nd initial.
Tiger888 I know what you mean about 'covering up' the excitement about Christmas but I guess that not everyone is like us.January Grocery 11/3740 -
Hi.
I have been looking at the Organized Christmas website and hope that some one can tell me when Thanksgiving is.
I thought that it was 27 November (Thursday but on their calendar it shows as the 20th.
Hope someone can help. ThanksJanuary Grocery 11/3740
