  • Hi All!
Thought I would catch up with you all! Thankfully I don't have to do masses of cleaning before Christmas because we have only lived here a month os everything is tidy and I'm trying to keep it that way hehe. Although I have a crisis! Because we have downsized my mum is storing some stuff for us including a box with some Christmas pressies in and my tree!! I can't believe I don't have my tree, I've got the box of baubles but they are kinda useless without the tree hehe. Thankfully I will be going up there at least twice before then so I can get it.

The coke ad made me feel so warm and fuzzy inside I love that ad so much and it really does start off Christmas! Won't be that long til its on either, it will soon be here!!

  • That's if it is on this year!! What an OUTRAGE!!

Has everyone made their little places to do christmas activities/planning/wrapping? And a little basket/tub of everything you need right to hand. Last year I spent so long losing the same roll of sellotape (What is THAT about?!) that I seriously wished I had done this one thing.

  • I tend to do that with tape as well. I'm thinking I need a dispenser that way I can hold the paper down and get tape at the same time.

I'm thinking of following in some of the others footsteps and pick up some cheapy brown paper and spurge a bit more on pretty ribbons and bows to jazz them up! I'm so fussy as last year was mine and OH's first Christmas together and we were living together as well and so we brought our own tree and decs. As I wanted to put all the pressies under the tree before sending them off to people they had to match the decs and so we looked everywhere for brown/gold paper hehe. :D

  • I'm not that good - I still have to do outside my front door from last week -but it's just too cold and wet. SO have got up to living room - it is half clean but covered in toys at the moment.

Am debating about cooking a meal today yet as it seems a long time to have a meal frozen - I wonder if it will be alright by December - does anyone ever freeze food for that long and is it alright?

Am going to empty the spare bedroom cupboard to make my little place - bought one of those sellotape dispenser thingys so I don't need to keep finding the end of the roll and I won't need to cut loads of bits with the scissors. Makes things a little easier.

  • haha siren you read my mind about sellotape dispensers
  • OK genius idea.. get a sellotape dispenser.. thanks for that :D

I too was wondering about leaving a meal frozen for that long. I am sure you can only freeze meat for one month after its sell by date? I dont know I am sure some food whizz can help us out :)

I am not doing too good either and I am away in Telford all day too so my organizedchristmas is looking a bit bleak right now.. Ahh well I worked my bottom off yesterday and you can't say fairer then that!

  • You know Christmas is here when thoughts turn to stocking fillers, mistletoe and eggnog, mulled wine and greeting cards. It's all part of the festive fun that is the Christmas spirit :-) So why do I dread Christmas shopping?
  • Bought some gorgeous little gold platters in a charity shop this morning, perfect for putting mince pies and nuts on, and a magnificent pair of gold glass candlesticks(£5 the pair in a charity shop too) which are on the mantlepiece just now but are for the christmas dining table. With my new cushions(which I had to buy as they were on my christmas spruce up list) and my gold bits the lounge is looking really chrismassy already.Just to add gold candles and the tree and it,ll be perfect.I was going to try a purple scheme this year but have decided against buying all new decorations for the tree, just going to update the look instead.I have gone in previous years for a very traditional red and gold scheme but I am adding chocolate and ivory this year to modernise it a bit,so my new colour scheme for xmas is chocolate, ivory and gold with a touch of red.
The presents under the tree have to be wrapped to match the scheme too,I thought I was the only person who did that.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one!! My poor Oh gets dragged into it all. Although to be honest part of it is OCD (which runs in my family) I have to have lists written inn the same pen and colours have to match for example I sent my brother a card when he got his exam results and I had to write the card in my green gel pen so that it matched the colour of the envelope (even though the pen was playing up and it took forever for me to write it!) and he never even noticed!!

Last year I didn't use tape to do my pressies I brought those round sticky things as they were on offer! They were good for small gift but useless for bigger stuff lol.

  • Sellotape dispenser!! Such a good idea!! I remember last year sticking loads of little bits of sellotape to myself.....then realised I was wearing jeans and the sellotape had turned blue!!!!! Wasn't good considering I had metalic white paper!!!
