  • Hello all!

I hope everyone is alright...such horrible weather here!

Well I had my endoscopy, I don't remember much of it as I had the sedation but I'm waiting the results from that, they've suggested an ultrasound as well...I just hope they get it sorted soon.. this isn't the dream finish to uni I had planned, I was hoping to go and visit all my friends before we all hit the world of work but it hasn't gone to plan and I'm feeling rather blue about it all!

I hope everyone is well, I shall have a read back through the thread now..

    *hugs to all*

    Jo

HAPPY BDAY MR HARDUP(ON) AND SUNNYDAYS SON

This made me smile Candy, son? son? what son? :rotfl:

Well myself and the houndies finally braved the weather and went for a walk in the park, unsurprisingly we were the only ones there and we got so wet in 40 minutes that we came home. They are both towelled off now and asleep but i must confess to putting the gas fire on in the living room to dry the houndlets properly :o i hope that my coat is dry before i go to w*rk later, i usually wear an old one but was a bit lazy and grabbed that one instead.
I will NOT go near the on switch for the heating for as long as possible :D

I made a lovely pan of lentil and bacon soup for dinner tonight and the bread rolls are proving as i type and now i`m off for a lovely hot shower to warm myself up.

Welcome to Bootsalebabe & LoopyLinz

Mummysaver - good luck with the insurance company, some people are so dishonest. My new mobile has a camera on it so i think i`d better make more of an effort to take it with me whenever i go out, if i`m unfortunate enough to have an acident i think i`ll use it to take pictures of any damage or supposed damage.

Offski to get showered and ready for w*rk now, hopefully i`ll be able to catch up later.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p
  • little bear very grumpy, no time to say much but mummysaver - get the defence in asap and if you can't get hold of insurance in the next few days put in a 'holding' defence, as there are timetables, should be on the form.

Made sausages in Remoska but realised I will have to start buying better quality sausages (quality always shows)

Linz I am also new on here and it is aspirational for me rather than fact, but they are so lovely on here and so welcoming and I do believe that there is no challenge that cannot be answered by the collective knowledge of the lovely people on here.

Must dash before little bear happens.

  • Good afternoon everyone

Sorry to hear you have to have the operation pennypincher. But as other people have said it really is pretty straightforward these days and will be a blessing. There are always people worse off remember.

Cheapskate you sound busy and have your hands full. I love to hear about a busy Mum. My sister inlaw thinks that having a young child gives her the excuse to do nothing all day then sit on the internet and produce ready meals for her hard working husband everyday. My niece is such a good baby as well so I just don't get how she fills her days.

Happy birthday to Tired Mum's ds and welcome to all the new posters.

I have done a bit of baking today and managed to finish lining the curtans for the little downstairs loo. I've been meaning to do that for a while. Tea is going to be chicken stew with dumplings which just needs heated through.

    Byebye for now

(((Hugs))) to JO - at least that bit's over now. Take it easy.

Welcome to LoopyLinz - you'll soon find out how we save time, effort and money on this thread. For instance, I made double lamb hotpot (in my gorgeous Remoska!) on Wednesday and DH has requested the leftovers today with chips (he loves stew and chips!) so that's a really easy and cheap meal. I mix one third Stardrops (under 70p from most supermarkets and 'pound' shops) with one third white vinegar and one third water, in an old trigger spray bottle and use that for nearly all my cleaning - I haven't bought special cleaning products for ages now. You can use the mix for dusting, cleaning baths, sinks, worktops and so on and it's so cheap. It looks a bit like wee in the bottle but I don't care about that! I am also experimenting with using soapnuts instead of soap powder and so far I'm impressed with the money-saving environment-friendly results and, using my BM, I've got my bread down to around 18p per loaf (which lasts DH and I a day and a half). I'm lucky in that both my children have left home so there's only the two of us. You'll find tons of advice on here but, as you are working full-time, please don't beat yourself up if you take short cuts - your health and sanity is just as important as money-saving!

To all the Nadine Bighead 'fans' - I've only ever seen her on the Oil of Ulay ads! I had no idea she was a Zelebrity! She looks pretty irritating, though, and she's got funny eyes!

Well, I had to nip out to the bank and got absolutely soaking wet and wind-swept! My hair looks like an old English sheepdog's so I'll have to have a shower; a friend is calling round this afternoon and she won't recognise me with my hair in this state.

Also, it's b****y freezing and I am determined not to put the heating on in September! It looks like the middle of winter out there now.

Anyway, I'm starvin marvin so I must have some lunch. Hope everyone is managing to keep dry!

    See you all later.
