Taplady, if its any help, I got some Polartec Powerstretch gloves from the camping shop. They're designed for people doing rock-climbing and stuff like that (polyester and spandex construction) but they're great on my mobility scooter. I too have Reynauds, as part and parcel of having Lupus. They were'nt cheap, but in this instance the expense was well justified. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

taplady--i have been diagnosed with raynauds disease. I have had since I had ds1 in 1984!! they say it can be linked to hormones, it hasn't been as bad the last couple of winters, but i do avoid extremes. I sometimes get in the balls of my feet!!
ruby---hope your on the mend

WS, hugs for you tomorrow, and Lame wolf, it must be so hard not to get on with your parents, makes me realise how lucky I am, huggles for you both.
Kathy, Hello to your friend :T , I must admit I am not cold here at all
infact I have had the windows open all day, but then I do not suffer from Reynauds, luckily, hope you all warm up soon xx
Just going to put the lasagne in the oven I managed to make two up, so thats a dinner done for next week. Then I am going to have a lovely relaxing bath.
DD is home from school tired but happy, the have changed the school timetable to a two weekly one, with super learning fridays
, seems like a good idea, she has also been moved up to the top set in science, which now means she can now do tripple science, which she will need to get towards her dream job.
See you later xx0 -
I turned the central heating off a coule of hours ago :rotfl: Burning smell had subsided a wee bit. No explosions *thumbs up*
OH phoned, he'll be home around 6. He can heat up something for his dinner from the freezer as I won't be eating as I got to w**k.
Lily DD has been in bed since 11.30am.... she didn't, however, fall asleep until 3pm and as she'd already had her lunch... I thought she'd be ok
Must get her up and give her some dinner though!!
Hope you all enjoy your Friday evenings! Think of me, out in the cold and rain, going to w**k!

update on the floods.
the main street through our town is closed due to flooding. DS2 still stuck 20 miles away waiting for the bus. Have rung the operator but they dont know where it is and cant contact the driver so we dont know if it will turn up:eek:
havent a clue what to do if it doesn't DS is only 16 and is a bit scared of being stranded. Lots of the road home is flooded too. dont know what to do. cant fetch him as we cant get through town.Do what you love :happyhear0 -
tapleady, I don't know what to suggest, but thought a hug might help.
:grouphug:
Where is DS stuck? Is he at school? Does he have any friends nearby? Is there a police station nearby?0 -
Any news taplady ?? is there anyone else who lives that way that could pick him up for you ??

Taplady! I hope your family all get home safe and sound.
In the snow a couple of years ago my mother and brother had to stay with various family members as they couldn't get home. Could that be an option??
We live up in the Moorlands, near the Peak District so luckily flooding is something that doesn't affect us. Snow is!
