  • Mm left over bolognaise for lunch. Yum! Just nice, something warm today.

Muffins are baking. I always overfill them and they come out mishaped with a couple of good ones:rolleyes: No worries tho as it's the weekend so no need to keep up appearences of being the perfect housewife when my OH takes his lunch to work haha.

Just watching the news - all about rising food prices. They need to get themselves over here!!!

    Tired Mum

Have you had your thyroid checked recently?

    Pennypincher

Very gentle hug and hope everything goes well when it does happen.

DD(19) and friend have just been given a mug of tea, a mug of hot chocolate and a bacon buttie (home baked).

DH has just come home as his meeting finished early and been given two large plates of home made lentil soup and a bread roll as well as a pint mug of tea.

He looked amazed to see I was wearing a big thick cardigan already and even more amazed when I reminded him it was "free".

As he is on the computer in the next room I am having a "surf" on here with some tea, but have put the breadmaker on for French dough so I can make a couple of French sticks for later.

  • Awww thank you girls for making me feel so welcome! Had lots of great ideas that I was going to tackle our disasterous house this weekend as we are going away next Friday (with hardly any money might I add!) and really couldnt face coming home to it all. However.........as always, other things have slipped in there infront of my plans.

Today is my little neices 6th birthday so was planning to call after work for a quick hello and give her a present. However sister in law has ordered us all to her house for a birthday tea! DH uncle died last night so MIL has told us we have to go pay our respects at his house tonight...........so there is Friday night gone! Tomorrow night I have organised a surprise party for DH as he is 30 next week so no doubt that will be stress central! Then sunday we are at DH uncles funeral which is in the middle of no where! Feel bad complaining about all these things as they are family occassions but lately just been feeling a bit like my life isnt my own.

Need to get things sorted!! Think a slow cooker may help with regards to the food thing..........at least its something I can sort in advance! Will have a look at the slow cooker thread, thank you to whoever suggested it!

Maybe I need to write a to do list and actually stick to it. Just didnt really invisage that this is what married life would be like. I have got to gain control! lol

    Thanks

    Good afternoon everyone

Sorry to hear you have to have the operation pennypincher. But as other people have said it really is pretty straightforward these days and will be a blessing. There are always people worse off remember.

Cheapskate you sound busy and have your hands full. I love to hear about a busy Mum. My sister inlaw thinks that having a young child gives her the excuse to do nothing all day then sit on the internet and produce ready meals for her hard working husband everyday. My niece is such a good baby as well so I just don't get how she fills her days.

Happy birthday to Tired Mum's ds and welcome to all the new posters.

I have done a bit of baking today and managed to finish lining the curtans for the little downstairs loo. I've been meaning to do that for a while. Tea is going to be chicken stew with dumplings which just needs heated through.

    Byebye for now

Thanks for the compliment princesstippytoes! My house looks like a bombsite as it is; if I did just the internet/cooking all day, the place would be a candidate for Kim & Aggie! :rotfl:
Baby having a nap & I'm not going out as weather is so horrid, so being quick on here so can wash up, iron a bit & get tea on. Definitely starting on Christmas card making when baby in bed tonight, or at least preparing designs, etc.
We have to do a major dejunk - all our storage space is filled to the gunwhales with STUFF, most of which hasn't seen the light of day for months or even years. Bet half of it could go on freecycle, some on Ebay & the rest to the tip.
Right, going to start the above jobs - gott to have some benefit from baby having a rare nap!
See you all later - & a belated welcome to linz!

(((Hugs))) to you, Pam, take it easy and put yourself first - that's an order!

I am so cold but have just put a thicker cardigan on. I can't believe how I used to take the heating for granted. Last year, if it was this cold, I'd have put it on for an hour to warm up! I am definitely going to be having an inventory of our winter clothes this week and will start buying a couple more thermal vests and so on. I might even knit myself some elegant fingerless gloves for when I am on the computer! I'm glad I bought my maxi coat at the beginning of last winter - I lived and died in it then and will this year, as well! It's a lovely charcoal grey full length coat originally from River Island (but, for me, from Help the Aged for £7!).

Anyway, going to put the kettle on - my friend should be here any minute and she'll be cold and damp, no doubt.

    See you all later.

    Hi all!

we have floods again in our town - which was completely flooded out last year! the houses opposite my house have all been flooded by a sudden downour, a friend who lives there has only just had her new floor put down and decorated from last year! Mm has just come fromn town and said the shops are flooded again - hope the town can recover from this again. My hairdressers has 3 inches of water in it and its up several steps. I have just rung DS1 and told him to be very careful when e drives home later from Worcester. Hope DS2 can get home from Kiddeminster on the bus as the roas is flooded on the way back.
    Keep you posted!

Mrs_Mix - am glad you dont have to go into hospital!
