Redruby glad your feeling alot better- dont overdo it though
Aussie glad DGS hands are improving
Sammyjig (((hugs)))
PenPin I hear people say how much better they feel after a hysterectomy
Mrs Mix glad you're a bit better
I soooo love OS:D
I have just made a spag bol (in the SC as we speak )and have added all the left over veg i had and some lentils too. pre-OS i would have just thrown the leftover stuff in the bin , instead i have a HUGE spag bol which will do at least 2 meals for 4 of us:D
I am a stradrops/vinegar convert too.
I feel so much better about myself as I am actively tackling the debt we are in and although it is only going down slowly , it is going down and this month I could actually pay for the kids school uniforms without resorting to CC,s.
I do know however I couldnt have done this without this site and all the advice , support, recipes and laughter from all of you
so thanks to all of you:T :T :T0 -
:hello: Good morning all!
Getting a bit windy here but not raining hard yet. DS has to drive down to the South coast for work today so I will be very glad once he's back home safe and sound!
AussieLass - glad DGS is doing ok! I guess it's manuka honey you're putting on his hands? Amazing stuff. I brought a tube of manuka honey ointment back from NZ, it says on it "Your first aid kit in a tube!" and it really is. I'm glad your new top came out well (better than the skirt, eh!;) ). I too would love to see a photo of you in it.
Celyn - good luck with that job, it sounds right up your street as well as the fact that it would get you away from your nasty bosses.
Happy Birthday to Hester's OH and "Tired Son" (well done penny penguin:D ):bdaycake: :bdaycake:
(((((HUGS))))) to mrs_mix, Smoky, Penny_Pincher, candygirl, squiggly, Churchmouse and anyone I've missed
I did something to my back yesterday, not sure what, I was standing beside my armchair leaning over slightly while tranferring things from one handbag to another, when I felt something go "SCRUNCH" at the bottom of my back and now it hurts - not too much, thankfully, but I've been moving a bit gingerly since then just in case. Hopefully it will get better on its own. I know they say exercise is much better than lying down, so I'll carry on as normal. I need to wash my hair later, which I do bending over the bath, so I hope I'll manage ok. I can't ask DH to do it, as he's phobic about touching someone else's wet hair
_ I found that out not long after we were married, when I sprained my wrist and had to wash and rinse my hair one-handed because the thought of doing it made him literally shudder
All for now. I'm off to catch up with the rest of last night's threads. may be able to pop back later.
Best wishes

Morning all!
I have caved this morning and, despite me and my DD wearing big jumpers.... the heating is on! It is so so cold in our house. Doesn't help that we don't have double glazing at the back and the house next to ours is empty.
I can smell a faint burning smell.... first 'winter' in this house so I'm not sure of the heating is meant to do that!!
Unsure of what to make for dinner. Lots of potatoes and lots of store cupboard food so it might be a potato bake sort of thing.
Pouring down with rain today. the mist has come down off the moors and it's so dark it might as well be 10 pm!!
I can't drive so we are sort of stranded when it's raining this bad! I hope my OH is home early so he can pop to the shop and get any supplies!
I'm at w**k tonight. I work in a Chinese resturant from 7.30pm - 11.30pm. It's good money and I actually do enjoy it. Plus, free food! It's just tiring!
Hope everyone has good days. Stay indoors!!

Happy Birthday to the birthday boys.HH,your post did make me

Horrible day here,v heavy rain but I was good and still took the dog out even though I didn't want to go out in it.
Had a yummy tea done in the Remoska last night, diced chicken,a basic pasta sauce from Lidl,a pepper, onion, and some chorizo that needed finishing up.I love the way you sling it all in and it turns out so good.In true old style we had pasta cooked in the residual heat once it had boiled in the pan. There was enough to freeze for another meal .
I have a couple more estimates to type up for DH,then I think I shall do some cardmaking. We have a little room we use as an office, but I've decluttered and made some room so I can put the craft stuff in too.I've put a little folding table in so I don't have to clear it all away like I do in the kitchen.
I gave in last night and put the heating on for a bit,and its really taken the chill off today.I wore a fleece till the troops came home,it just gets a bit bulky when you're cooking!I think the winter duvet can come down from the loft too.
Sounds like quite a few of you need (((hugs))) & :kisses: Take as often as required xxx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
:bdaycake: happy birthday to the birthday boys! My brain isn't working fast enough for innuendo today so I'll leave it at that

:grouphug: to all who need or want one
Just a quickie today (damn, innuendo strikes again) as I have only just woken up. I had an alarm set for six thirty and asked OH to make sure I was up. He said he turned the alarm off as I was obviously tired and need some sleep  So now I am running around like a headless chicken.
Love to all and I'll speak to you later xxx0 -
Mornin :hello:
(((((((((hugs))))))))) for all in need or want one today xx
Its flippin orrid here today, wet, windy and cold. Ah well at least I am not out in it, yet!!! I still feel a bit off today, I think it is as Kathy said, I am worrying about OH
He has had to go back to the Docs this morning, the appt with the nurse for his blood test did'nt go well yesterday, and the Doc wants to see him as his BP is still very high.
Just glad we did'nt promise to go down to my friend's caravan in Devon, she asked us to but we said we would let her know after he had been to the Doc's.We would have been coming back on Sunday anyway so its not worth it now, its a long drive and worse in this weather.
Bootsalebabe welcome to you
O Beth how lovely, :T
Penny-Pincher A friend of mine had a hysterectomy a few years ago, and she is like a different woman now,
Sammyjig at least he is in a bed now, and not left in a corrider(((hugs)))for you both. I think that was awful giving precedence to someone who willing makes themselves ill with drugs, it makes me so
Silvercharming a dead rat:eek: ooo yuk
Smokybabe PHEW!!! I feel worn out just reading what you are going to do, hmmmm free time how you going to fit that in then??? Dont do too much, you need to take time out and just CHILL xx
Mrs-mix glad to hear you feel a little better now
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to tired mums DS

Little bear had a disturbed night - and shared!
Poor little mite. I suspect he is getting a little cold but he won't keep pyjamas or sleep suits on and doesn't want to mess around with this blanket rubbish, so I am a little at a loss. Mum's cuddles are lovely and warm and I am nodding over the keyboard as a result.
Hugs to all - I have just skimmed the thread, but I do hope Sammyjig that your partner is recovering. I am sure that he will be carefully watched.
Hardup Hester - I am confident that you have given your darling the sort of birthday present he would prefer - much better than socks.
And I would just like to say that last night I USED THE REMOSKA and the Tefal thingy.
I was supposed to be putting a casserole in the slow cooker this morning but confidently expect that I won't be awake enough to follow a new recipe until this afternoon so I shall have to PUT IT IN THE REMOSKA!
It looks like the pointing work will not get done today due to large amounts of weather, but pieces of winnebago are being carted away for scrap, which is a help.
Little bear has gone into a grumble - back later!Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
:bdaycake: made a cake for the birthday boys and girls to share a slice each from.
Lilycharlotte i hope you manage to warm up soon, dont like the sound of the burning smell, but it might be that the heating hasnt run for a while. please keep an eye on it and take care.
ivyleaf i hope your back feels much better soon and its nothing lasting.
its so miserable her its more like mid january than september.
ill give hugs to all those in want or need of one and say congratulations to all those with happy news and reasons to celebrate then i best get off and do something. i never did get round to stripping that bookcase yesterday so i must do it today- ive just arranged to view a second hand bed tomorrow morning with a view to collecting it and if i dont get on and clear a space ill have no where to put it. in this weather it cant sit outside longSPC~12 ot 124

It touched it, there was no flippin damage! I'm guessing she got short sharp shrift from the insurance co and that's why she's done it, argh, will need to phone my insurance co and have a proper read when I've calmed down. Stoooopid lady!
Arggh, hugs for you hun. If the insurance company have told her to get stuffed, then I guess that's a very good sign for you. Your insurance company will be able to advise you I'm sure - they'd have seen all this before.
OH was involved in an accident years ago and the insurance companies ruled no fault on either side. The guy then decided to sue him and the court ruled in OH's favour, said the accident was the other guy's fault and he had to pay all the costs.:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Celyn thanks very much for that, couldn't get through to my insurance co when i tried so will speak to them later, don't know what she thinks she'll gain by doing this if the insurance co have told her to go away, would've thought it's a waste of her money! Still she did mention when it happened that she had already had several "accidents" hmmm, no wonder the insurance co were suspicious of her, perhaps she didn't realise they have a database of claims that they all share!
Off to lunch now, pizza hut is opp Asda so will be popping in to collect my free lenor, see thebigsofty.co.uk for stores participating where you live, you just need to take in a top from any old bottle of fabric softener and you get a free bottle of lenor or a voucher from customer services. Not much use to all the vinegar users here, but I use softener when I remember to chuck it in! Could also do with something to make the washing smell nice, just smells damp at the mo with it draped all over the dining room from yesterday!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000
