  • Thank you all for your kind words :)

I just feel so helpless because, in my opinion, I've done all I can by arranging payment plans (it's only small amounts of money really, £60 for Scottish Power, £40 a week for council tax owed from our last house and then our regular direct debits) but it's really hit us hard as we haven't got the money we thought we would have for these things.

Unless something happens by next week I'm not sure what we can do to be honest.

That's what I hate, not being able to sort it out!

I have a horrible feeling my mom will give us money, which I hate, but an always greatful for as sometimes... you just have to swallow your pride and take a hand out.

I think my dad is going to murder my OH step dad for putting us in this position!

On the other hand we're lucky we don't have a massive amount of debt really and that we have each other and a lovely DD. Who is going to enjoy a late lunch and then help me to tidy her playroom!! (In theory :rotfl: )

    Thank you
    xXx

    Afternoon all

    Happy Anniversary to The Grims

Pen-Pin best of luck at the hospital today

Sammyjig I do hope your DH is ok.

Diva a gentle (((hug))) for poor Treacle

Sistercas hmmm... bum holes eh? Very descriptive!:rotfl:

Mioliere I notice the boob count has gone up to 2 :D

A Wolfy (((((hug))))) for everyone else who want/needs one today - there are so many who are unwell/worried/sad, and I'm sorry that I can't keep all the names straight in my head.

We have a Dilemma.... It's our 5th wedding anniversary on Sept 13th, and we are at a loss as to how to celebrate. A meal out is a non-starter, because a starter is all I can eat at a sitting! Mr LW called several theatres, but they are all booked up. It needs to be something for just the two of us,as I don't enjoy going out with a group of people or having people round, and needs to be wheelchair-friendly. Any suggestions/ideas gratefully received!! :o

Other than that, we are seeing the Bolivian Sunshine Dogs perform at our favourite pub this Saturday ( http://www.myspace.com/theboliviansunshinedogs if you're curious), and the only task I must do today is to put together a set of healing crystals for one of the regulars there. I promised them a couple of weeks ago, and want to take them with me on Saturday.

    OK, I've waffled enough, methinks.

    Have a good day, all.

    Qick update

I have left DH at the hospital and come home to collect kids from school.

He is STILL waiting in the medical emergency ward for a bed. No-one has seen him. I was there with him for 1 1/2 hours but have had to come home. MIL is going up to sit with him so he shouldn't be on his own too long.

    What a day!!
:)Do more of what makes you happy:)
  • Afternoon everybody

I have had a busy day of running errands, post office, butcher, dry cleaner and dentist so not alot done round the house. I have managed to get some washing dry on the airers so I will start the ironing in a while. Tea is leftover lasagne from last night with baked potatoes.

    Happy Anniversary Ladygrim
    Hugs to Lilycharlotte
I do hope you don't have to have a hyserectomy Pennypincher. Have they told you what is wrong yet and why you need it. Hugs to you too.
I see you haven't used your Remoska yet Sybil. I hope it is a success. I am tempted myself.
Enjoy the good memories today brings Twink.

In the middle of washing a very long hall floor and then need to tackle the kitchen so just popped on to say "Hello" and offer a hug to everyone having a rough time just now.

Have just taken a French loaf out of the BM and will make a stir fry for tea unless anyone gets picky and they can have a sandwich or some home made soup!

DD(19) has a friend coming round later so I want the place looking reasonable.

Does anyone know where I can buy a Swiffer type thing - DD wants to be able to use disposable cloths to wipe down laminate floor when she goes back to uni.

Have told DH I am getting back to writing down everything I spend and keeping tight control this month and if it goes well I would like to buy a Remoska with what I have saved.

He did not actually object so .......;)

    Back again :D
sending(((((((((hugs)))))))))to everyone in need or not today xx

Well the ironing is done and put away, had tom soup for lunch, not home made though, felt too yuk, so had a rummage and found a tin of heinz in the back of the cupboard, I wonder how long its been there:confused: tasted ok though.

whatatwit Boots sale ehhh, I'll have a look at the site and see what's on offer, I need some perfume, and I am sure mum must be near to finishing her last spray, TVM x

Thanks Kathy I am still cold and feel the same really, OH has just put the heating on(I cant quite believe it, without any prompting)
I think you are right I am worried about him, he looks pale and his eyes are bloodshot, looks like he has been drinking, but only has a couple of glasses of shandy a week so I dont think that really counts as drinking. His appt is at 4pm maybe we should know something then.

mrs_mix O poor you, I hope it does'nt come to that, but if it does at least they will be able to keep an eye on you, just rest and take it easy :)

Lilycharlotte anytime you want to rant or get something off your chest just come in here, there is always someone to listen.
Your In-Laws sound  and totally unfair.

Sybil when do you go away?

Hi Lamewolf the other BOOB is mine :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Off to finish off some knitting now, then check out the Boots site later

  • Pippa.S - my inlaws are  haha!! My MIL had my OH quite younger and she remarried and had 2 other children (now just 10 and 5) so it's like she's washed her hands of my OH. It's such a shame.

Ironing. Now that's what I meant to do today!! Still time!! :D If I'm ironing when my OH gets in from work, so the better - he'll think I never stop ;)

My DD is starting to lagg after having no afternoon sleep today. Too late now! She can go to bed at 5pm tonight haha.

Thank you alll for your kind words - I like all these hugs :D

I have been constructive and made lists of all the food in each cupboard, pantry, fridge and freezer then stuck the lists on the inside of the doors. When something is used up, a star goes next to it and then I know to buy it next time. Save us buying multiples of things where often, a new one gets started before the old one is finished. *Proud* :D haha.

    The sun is coming out!!

Hello again - shouldn't have bragged about what I was planning to do today, 'cos it's all gone pearshaped! Did all my jobs in town, but washing on airer as it keeps raining on & off & don't want to use dryer, no baking done & now need to start tea. Baby slept late morning on the way home from town, so card making on back burner again, too.
Forget who asked, but it is weird having a baby in the house again after so long, esp as grandson is nearly a year older than him! Some days I think he keeps us young, other days I feel ancient (40 now!) as my creaking knees won't let me kneel on the floor! Would love a bro/sis for him, but DH is taking some persuading! :rotfl:
Just back from collecting car from its MOT - passed OK, just needed a couple of new lamps, but they don't know what's causing it to cut out on me & will have to go an electrical auto place. So far, the worst place it's died on me has been on the ring road going into town, once at a set of lights, once mid traffic, & had baby with me both times!
Ah well, sis just been to return £ I lent her yesterday & brought loads of cooking apples from her MIL's tree - enough for about 3 crumbles/pies - & DS1 paid back £ into my a/c from when he borrowed, so I'm £36 up today. Does that mean I've got that much more to add to GC, or should I be really good & use it for Christmas fund or for next month's bills?
Off to start chilli now, then DH busy after tea, so will bake all night - fancy making Twink's Hob Nobs; got some Green & Black's cooking choc lurking, so might dip some of biccies for grownup treat!
    See you later,
    A x

Thanks for the good lucks for my interview. Bloke today seemed to be impressed that I had looked the company up on the internet and that I had applied for it while I was away. It seemed to go ok, but then so did the last 6 I had :Danyway, one down, one to go tomorrow.

Happy anniversary to Lord and Lady Grim
Cheapskate - welcome wavesmile.gifTaplady – congrats on your runner up position clap.gif

Pen-Pin – hope you get on ok at the hospital. Could you not have a curry night at home with your friends? Does the nice Indian do takeaway, then if it is not a good day for you, you could stay with them as long as you are able and plenty of friends to wash up :D

Merlot – loved your story about OH being told before he got in. Years ago I received an anonymous phone call from one of my then husband’s work mates to tell me he had given a girl at work a bunch of flowers. What the caller didn’t know was it was me who had sent the flowers to her via him.

Lilycharlotte – hope you got the uni sorted out and that OH’s stepdad pays out

Candy - you are not moaning, you’ve got a lot on your plate at the moment and we are only too pleased for you to let off steam.

Diva – hope treacle is better and it was a one off

Mrs Mix – hope you soon start to feel better and avoid having to go into hospital

Sammyjig – hope that by the time you get back to the hospital OH has been seen

grouphugg.gif for all the above and everyone else who is poorly, stressed or just plain wants one!
