Hello everyone, Daily Chat newbie here - hope it's OK to join in!
We are me, DH, DS 16 yrs & DS nearly 16 months, & have DS 21 & DD 19 who each live with other halves, plus DS1 has a son, so I'm a granny, too!
Today I have to wash (got up late so WM not even on yet), iron, go to town to pay bills & get DS3 new bus pass for college, bake some sort of biccies & a pudding for after tea, clean bathroom, & start making Christmas cards when baby in bed! :rotfl:feel tired just looking at that list, so need another cuppa first.
Tea is chilli, plus whatever pud I make, tomorrow I fancy making Jamie Oliver's fishcakes off one of those Sainsbury's £5 meal cards. Got everything I need, except lettuce for salad, so shouldn't spend too much today!
Don't know any of you yet, but still sending best wishes, hugs etc, if you need them - please help yourself! :grouphug:
Hope to talk to you later.
    xo

  • Good morning. It's cold but bright here.I'm sure it's early November, did I sleep a couple of months or something.Last night it poured down and was freezing.I live on the north east coast and the wind was howling. My sore throat is better today and I do feel a lot better.I'm going to have a day tidying my cupboards and just potter.I enjoy those kind of days.Need to try and do some washing as weather man says that the next few days are going to be wet.So what's new.
Congrats to Ladygrim on your anniversary.
    Have a good day everyone.

Good morning! Wet and gloomy here yet again, perfect returning to school weather! oh has gone off with work and the troops are all back, bet the getting up at 6.30am and showering and dressing and making brekkie doesn't last long though, still it's nice not to have to drag them from their beds! Put dough in for rolls last night, so have just stuck it in remoska to rise and will bake later, dinner tonight is burgers, they were really cheap in Asda but seemed to have a very high meat content and looked quite good, so hopefully the kids will like them, usually make our own, but these were cheaper than the mince! Will pop them in the rolls and do some couscous salad and coleslaw to go with them I think. Blackberry and apple crumble for pud, stewed the berries and a couple of cookers last night and it smells of harvest time :D

Have done dw and hoovered, will have to go see the kids wash baskets and see how full they are, they've all grown so much over the summer that they have a lot less clothes now, which is great! Don't have enough whites of mine and oh's to make up a full load so need their stuff too!

Going to enjoy the peace today I think, will put on some catch up radio and do some cards later I think and try and print off the bits for the journals in the jars. Not much else planned though, think a couple of friends will be popping in for coffee so will be nice to chat without interuptions!

Ladygrim - happy anniversary, enjoy your meal tonight!

Dazi - good luck with the interview, must be good karma if they rearranged it for you.

Hester - be careful of your shoulder, as I've just found out, pulled muscles hurt! Any news on when your bil is moving into his flat, and how did the hearing go about the house, did I miss it or am I confused and it's not happened yet?

Annie - glad you slept well, I have a lavender and chamomile plug in thing in the bedroom, you can smell it without it being turned on, but when I'm frazzled I stick it on for a few mins before bed and it is really relaxing.

Penpin - good luck with your gynae appt, and sounds like things are improving with your mum and that she really listened to you when you told her how you felt, hope things keep getting better.

Sistercas - rotfl - bum holes! That is just the sort of thing my lot would say! And I'm not surprised you're pooped, you sounded like superwoman yesterday with all your cooking!

Cheapskate - welcome to the thread, sounds like you're going to have a busy day, all that with a 16 month old in tow, wow!

Sammy - thinking of you and your oh, hope that he gets an appt with the doc quickly and that it can be sorted out before it does get serious.

Taplady - congratulations, well done! And to the lady who lost 4 stone, that's a lot to have lost in 8 months! I'm always impressed by people's willpower when they lose weight, my oh has zero willpower where things like cheese and crisps and beer and wine are concerned, but he is trying (very, most of the time!).

Redruby - glad you seem to be on the mend, it's just horrid when you can't do anything that you want to do. Poundland sell brollies, might be worth getting a spare in there - I'm guessing your dd will prob want something a bit swisher if she is getting to choose it if she's anything like mine! Though my dd's have lost their's again, so have gone off with a huge Pink Finance (don't know who they are, must be something oh picked up at a roadshow) golfing brolly and the other has a folding Standard Life one, take your life in your hands with that cos you press a button and it springs out to golfing brolly size!

Moliere - Primark do cheap slippers! I hate cold feet and usually sit on mine to keep them warm, only trouble comes when the door goes and I rush to answer it to find I can't feel my feet any longer and usually trip over!

Had a convo with DD yesterday, and casually asked if her bf had given notice on his flat yet, he said he was going to ring, but it has to be in writing!!!!If I hadn't asked they would have ended up paying an extra months rent:mad:    I wouldn't mind but he's 26 !!!!!!

Its a lovely morning here in Yorkshire...I got three loads on the line, done the daily housework and now sat here thinking what can I do, a wee bit more ironing, I'm gonna get a long soak before I do that I think.

Sausage casserole in SC for dinner.

The children have skipped to school again this morning, this won't last, my DD was up again at 6.30am, dressed, hair done, sitting with her school bag waiting to leave, and by the time 8.20 came she felt sleepy, bless her.

I am sending hugs to JackieO DD, incase she is currently howling like I was yesterday, the milkman knocked on the door for next doors money yesterday morning as he does every wednesday and he took one look and gave me a hug, my husband knew about it before I told him, the nosey neighbour across the road made sure he was putting his bin out as my OH arrived home and told him. I feel as though I live in a goldfish bowl.

    Right, I must crack on.

Edited: Congratulations to Lord and Lady Grim on your Wedding Anniversary,

    Welcome to Cheapskate.

  • Hugs to those who need them especially Sammyjig.

I am sure the doctor will know exactly what to do. It is so worrying, and it is always harder to worry for someone else.

Congratulations to Lord & Lady Grim

Tea yesterday was a takeaway curry :o

But little bear was so much better yesterday and dear heart did come through the door looking more alive than he has for some time, so I must use the Remoska tonight!

(little bear is not very interested in this chicken rubbish - but he likes chicken tikka. I craved spicy food when I was carrying him (which I normally cannot bear) and, of all things, lager. I think little bear will be a rugby player when he is bigger!)

I may come back on here tomorrow and confess to fish fingers :o

I have absolutely no idea what I am going to do today, but the weather is foul and I feel I could just nod off. This does rather cut down my options.

I think I will try and cook a batch of soup to freeze. Little bear enjoyed some tinned vegetable soup for his lunch yesterday with some lovely buttery toast so perhaps some really nice home made soup will be just the ticket. I can freeze it in little bear sized portions.

I am sure that there were loads of things I needed to say, but I feel my eyelids lowering and I can't remember a thing!

    Morning all

Happy anniversary to the grims!

Huge hugs to all who need or want one :grouphug:

    Welcome Cheapskate

Sammyjig, poor you (and even more poor Mr Sammyjig). I really do hope that he is okay. Remember we are here if you need us, and that there is always a way through difficult patches. Huge :grouphug: to both of you xxx

Well, I've got my trainee OS'er coming in half an hour or so, I will try to drag her online to say hello! I am very excited at the thought of being someone's domestic guru!

Went to Mr T, got whoopsied rump steak and oxtail. The steak is to be put away for our anniversary, it's our tenth in just over a months time (well, we're not married, but we don't ever plan to be, but it'll be ten years since we got together and that seems like a good reason to celebrate). The lady on the till asked me what the oxtail was. Then she shuddered, and asked if that was what oxtail soup was made from. 'Allegedly' I told her... I don't think she got it. Ah well. I have nearly built the freezer back up now, and we should have the wages back to normal this month :j Then maybe Dave will start letting me buy from my lovely butcher again. I feel bad for not going there, I didn't do my big shop there last month and I've bought since Dave got ill was mince (can't bring myself to buy it from the supermarket) and he said he hadn't seen much of us. I pretended that Dave can't eat meat for a while 'cos of his tummy. I can't tell him the truth, he'll end up giving us stuff again.
