Pen-pin *specially gentle hugs* for you and your family x. Sammyjig, I really hope all goes well with your OH *hugs* for you and him x.
Happy Anniversary to my Lord and Lady Grim (curtseys)
Work was horrible today, new boss seems to find me wanting at every turn, yet one of the consultants is taking me out for lunch as a thank you for what I have done for her customer recently
OS wise I have done DW, not really much in there but put away stuff already washed. TD not been on, WM on now.
I hope all have had a good day - *hugs* for those I have missed.0 -
Evening!
Penpin - big hugs to you and your dh and dd, trying to look for a positive side I hope that it'll help with your health to a noticeable degree xxx
Hester - ohhh, what a mess about the house, at least they won't be responsible for a redemption fee, and I agree, certainly the older two children need to know - though having read what you've said about your sil I'm a little concerned she might be planning on leaving the 3 kids in the house to be repossessed with it, not good. The new head sounds impressive, hope it's a case of start as you mean to go on!
Sammy - hope he has a bed now, at least they are sorting him out.
Beth - fantastic news! I could hear the smile as I read your post!
Morwenna - good luck tomorrow, perhaps your boss just got out of bed the wrong side, fingers crossed.
Bootsalebabe - hello and welcome, come back soon and chat!
Well my friend came round and is having yet another of his usual quandries! I love him dearly but he does get himself in a stew, I listened and let him talk himself sensible again! He trotted off to sort out my neighbours garden then popped back to have dinner with the kids and play with them for a bit, which was nice as it's quite hard to listen to tales of 4 different days at school! dd1 loves her new school and is so happy with the tutor group she's in, she has made loads of new friends, and met up again with various ones that she's made through dance and drama and stuff. ds is his usual self, school was okay, he was more interested in dinner and has been on his computer for ages working out next week's meal plan, heaven help me! dd2 settled straight back in and thinks her new tutor is barmy, he'll suit her down to the ground then!
Just chatted to the kids and caught up with some phone calls tonight, now in bed with a cuppa and waiting for my pal to get off her phone so I can talk to her and arrange our weekend away - don't know where we're going yet, but I'm hopeful of some sun!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Thanks for the hugs! Much appreciated
Pen_Pin - so sorry to hear your news hun, thinking of you and your family ((((HUGS))))
betheebee - So pleased to hear that all's well with your DD :j About time you had some good news!
Sammyjig - Your poor OH! I did wonder if it was cellulitis he had. My DH was bitten last year and his leg started to go the same way, but luckily the antibiotics worked. The doctor warned him to rest and to keep his leg up and thankfully it did the trick - I do hope your OH will be better asap ((((HUGS)))).
Well, I got my jumpers out today from the bottom of the washing bin where they'd been all summer (what there was of it  ) and they're now all washed and put away in the wardrobe. Awful to leave them in the washing bin all that time, I know, but there always seemed to be more important things to wash. There seemed no point washing them as there was no room for them in the top of the wardrobe anyway
Thanks to whoever it was for telling us about the 3 for 2 toys in Boots - I must tell DD2 about that. I noticed today at Bluewater that Baby Gap are having a Summer Clearance, in case that's helpful to anyone (usually the only time we buy anything there!)
All for now, goodnight, sleep tight

Pen-pin :grouphug: If there's anything you can do, you know we're here, right?! I'm thinking of you. Bootsalebabe, that was so sweet of you to de-lurk. I hope you join us more often.
Ivy! How the devil are you?! How was France?!
I'm thinking of all of you who have illnesses and troubles :grouphug: and all of you who don't, too!
Well, my friend came over and it turns out she loves cleaning but hates cooking. As I was showing her how to make rubber chicken she admitted that she didn't think she had the willpower to cook properly on a regular basis. Since I love cooking but am not so keen on the housework nitty gritty, we're considering doing a 'wife swap' once per week or fortnight - she'll come over and do some of my cleaning chores while I make her batches of food to freeze! I can't see how that will work out, but we're going to give it a shot. I have to agree with her on one thing: Why is it so much fun to clean someone else's house and so tedious to clean your own? Even when it's just dusting and hoovering and there's no real capacity for being nosy? I'm sure it can't just be us that think that! :rotfl:
Our OHs work together, so we all spent the evening here - the boys playing darts and faffing about with the homebrew, us girls scouring cookery books to get a feel of her likes and dislikes. She didn't want to come and say hello thoughShe says the internet gives her migraine
Anyway, the boys have started calling us Kim and Aggie. We neither of us asked which was which, and frankly I don't want to know.#
OH heard from MIL this evening. She bought a rhubarb crumble from her local butchers and there was a DEAD RAT in it  I don't like the woman, but I really do feel for her right now.0 -
Evening all
been reading but not felt like posting dont know whats wrong been feeling sick all the time and generally run down still no job and the job centre doesnt have anything suitable either

Pen Pin I had a hysterectmy at 27 and can honestly say it was the best thing that hapened as no more faffing around every month ,no more expense, and no more tummy cramps:j so chin up i know you will be just fine we will all make sure of that along with your DH & DD
Happy Anniversery to the Grimms:beer:
Sammy glad OH is getting some treatment hope he gets a pillow soon
hugs to all who need them0 -
Hi All!
Been a funny old day today. It would have been my Mum's birthday. I've spent the day alternating between happy memories and sad thoughts.
Congrats to the Grims on your anniversary.
((((hugs)))) to all the poorly ones. Sammyjig, I'm sure DH will make better progress now. How horrible for him. Twink, special hugs to you. mrs mix, fingers and toes crossed for you. Hope you're feeling better ((((((big hugs)))))
PP, hysterectomies are only done nowadays when absolutely necessary, so while I understand and sympathise with your apprehension, I bet you'll feel like a new woman once it's done and dusted:D Certainly everyone I know who's had one has said they feel a whole lot better now;) ( and that includes hypochondriac sis-in-law, who lives only to groan, moan and complain:rotfl: )
ivyleaf, I was at Bluewater ( briefly) today. I could have kept an eye open for you, had I known you were there:D
Oh and catznine, have I missed the posting of your recipe for nasi goreng? I love it, well truth I loved it when we were in Dublin and I ate it 3 days out of 10:o :rotfl: ( First time I'd ever had it in my life!)
Christa, managed to get my booking done, eventually:T . The travelodge site was manic and just kept booting me out for ages.
Now this is supposed to be an OS thread, so........ I made a batch of bolognaise sauce today!:D I'd actually got chicken thawed for curry, and more mince for chili, but I ran out of motivation and energy. So that's tomorrow's jobs.
Night all, CMYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Hi guys,
of the gentelest kind to pen-pin (I am so sorry to hear your news) sammyjig and your OH, Mrs-mix (I hope you feel loads better soon), Taplady and any one else in need of one.
The latest rounds of shifts are done and now I have four days off. This evening I have cleaned the house and re sewn DS1's badges on his cubs uniform as I apparently put them on the worng way  I have my second wash on the go and still need to prep the breakfast, uniforms and do the lunch bags. I also need to do an online shop for Saturday.
Tomorrow I have 6 hours to myself  :T :T:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: and will either do a mega clean of chill, it will depend on my mood in the morning I think. I need to clean all the windows, wash all the nets, sort out the kitchen windosills glue the beaded curtain, do 2 yes 2    weeks worth of ironing - can't be bothered mummy is now entering retribution by back ache territory    and also clean the filters in the fish tank.
Apart from all that Yipeeeee!!!!!! some free time.
See you all soon.
