Afternoon all
Have read the thread and my brain has gone blank.
Sammyjig hugs to you and your OH
TAPLADY well done on coming second.
CHEAPSKATE welcome
LILYCHARLOTTE sorry to hear things are so rough financially.
KATHY I always have cold feet in the winter, no matter how thick my socks are. I've tried everything and the only thing that works is a hot bath and to immediately put thick socks on.
Managed to get some good bargains with my money off vouchers at Boots. DS had a good day at his new school but looks a bit like Harry Hill in his proper school shirts:D . Made a start on his room, but it's so disgusting it will take me most of the day tomorrow.
Having HM chicken soup and garlic bread for tea. Need to start thinking about Christmas and putting things away. Off to look for a mincemeat recipie.
Have a good evening all.

Hi everyone
I'm just back from town and fumming  . Some idiot knocked DD flying while we climbed the stairs in the multi-storey car-park. All because he couldnt wait the extra 30 seconds it takes for a 3 year old to walk up the stairs. He pushed past us as we went up and he went down. Its a good job I had tight hold of her otherwise she would have fallen down 10 concreate steps . As it is she banged her knee and I have pulled my arm. He should have known better as he was in his 50's.
Rant over dd now has a nice new pair of shoes and 2 pairs of Primark PJ's so is very happy despite the bruised knee.

Aww your poor daughter! I hate those people who think they are too important to care about anybody else.
At least she has some nice new pjs - they always make me happy too

Afternoon all,
Another €1000 spent on kitchen 'stuff' to-day, can't handle spending that kind of money anymore, even though I have saved it for just this purpose...out of the habit I guess.
Happy anniversary to Lady and Lord Grim.
Congratulations Taplady.
Welcome Cheapstate...great name, would have used it myself if I had thought of it!
Merlot...thought that country people were nosy! Went to take DD2 to ferry last week, DS3 arrived some hours later and asked what I had been doing in port...he was fishing...just as well hadn't lied to anyone about where I was going.
PenPin...hope that you at least get a decision...good idea to have your Indian take away at home, then you can retire when it suits you.
LilyCharlotte...hope that OH has applied for whatever benefit he may be due....when things were really bad here and family all young, I often had to swallow my pride and take help from my parents...just glad that I was able to pay them back before they died...but take it if you need to, my mother always said that she would rather we had help when we needed it so that she could have the pleasure of seeing us pull through with her help, than leave us money when she died...makes sense, which is why we have tried to help our now grown up children when they have moved into their own accommodation.
Sammyjig, hope that the news is good from the hospital for OH.
Every time I sit down to type my presence is required for some fiddly thing in the kitchen so I forget what I was going to say...so hello, hugs and congratulations to all as appropriate.
Have a good day all

Afternoon all,
gosh, seems to be an awful lot today!! Everyone must be indoors on their computers cos it's so horrible outside... Having said that, there is an attempt at blue sky outside right now.. I'm sure it won't last!
Just finished letters for the officeYoungest DD had a good first day at secondary school - except for school trying to cram everyone into a tiny canteen that seats about 50 all at the same time at lunch.... Words will be said (esp being a parent governor!) Hope all those others who have started school had good days too.
JoannasMum, that's awful, some people are appallingly rude & inconsiderate.
(((((((((twink, mrsmix, sammyjig & MrSJ, penpin, msdiva, candygirl, jayward, lilycharlotte)))))))) If I've forgotten people who are having tough times, it's not intentional and please consider yourselves included too
Having the left spagbol from last night for supper again today (well I had mine earlier & middle DD had hers the second she got in from school!). But I refuse to cook again cos I know it will be wasted otherwise.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
Afternoon All
(((hugs))) to all those feeling poorly & special hugs for Twink.
Joannasmum - thats terrible. However I believe in 'what goes around comes around' - he will pay for it later.
Havnt done anything on my to do list today as after doing the school run, OH & myself had to go and do a special delivery in London - made a change for me but will have double to do tomorrow.
We had to eat out so went very cheap with Maccy D's so I dont need any dinner so egg on toast for the kids. Just off now to make bread for tomorrow then will be having an early night.
Oh and got one of those cheap travel lodge rooms, trying not to spend to much at the moment but is was such a bargain, didnt get a £9 one but we are going to the Covent Garden one right near to Xmas. Even with paying for parking at the hotel it is still cheaper than going up for the day on the train. That is something to look forward to.

Evening!
What a busy day at work. It was madness. But over now and hopefully tomorrow will be less hectic.
Not much happening here today. Getting ready to go to Spain on Saturday:j Still got to get my spending money.
Dinner for me will be chicken soup. Not really hungry as I ate everything very late today owing to the situation at work.
Weather today has been horrible, rain, rain and more rain.
Hope everyone's okComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
