  • Morning all

Been up since 4:40 with a painful shoulder, too much guilloteening, ot well only another 1000 documents to cut.

Doesn't time fly, I remember when mine started school, cruel & evil mummy here & I didn't shed a tear, but I spoke to DD1 last night & it's her 6th wedding anniverary on Sunday!

Off to work soon, the kids start back today so that will be interesting.
The new head has a hit list of our problem kids & is starting a series of interviews, every child on the hit list is being seen along with their parents & being ginen an ultimatum along the lines of 'New head, new start, shape up or ship out'. He's doing the 1st 10 interviews next week, he is very forthright & calls a spade a spade.

Hugs to Smoky, PenPin, Jayward, Essex-girl's Dad, Candygirl's Dad, Beth and her DB's, RedRuby and anyone else in need.

Hubby's b'day tomorrow & he's having the day off, it's just coincidence but he can have a lazy day.

Corned beef hash for tea tonight, I wonder if BIL likes corned beef? Oh well, he can go to McD if he doesn't.

    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Churchmouse sorry to hear you couldn't get a Travelodge booking last night. I had no problems, except it said the room was for one person and when I changed it for 2 occupants it didn't actually say so on the screen. I rang them, but you can't book the special rates over the phone  I started again and it came up clearer the next time. Hope you get what you want where you want.

Work again today. Nothing exciting going on here I am afraid.

    Have a good day all
  • Good Morning All

Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs Ladygrim

Not raining here in Essex at the moment, but I believe it is forcast for the forseeable future. Will put some washing on in a mo then decide whether to hang it inside or out.

Had a productive day yesterday, made the french sticks in the breadmaker which came out very rustic looking but everyone loved them. BM will be on again today for bread for kids packed lunches.

Have a little paperwork to do this morning, some housework then need to pop out to next to return a coat I ordered, need to do some ironing today also.

Tonight we are having chicken portions with cheesy pots and salad for tea.

Think am waffling now so best go, have a great day.

  • Morning all,

Happy Anniversary to the Grims!!!! Have a lovely meal later.
Dazi, good luck to you today, let us know how you get on.

Looks pretty murky here again, was raining earlier. I want to get my cabin in the garden painted with wood preservative but it won't stop raining long enough for me to do it!

Back to school FINALLY for younger two DD's - hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!! (*jumps up & down with glee*) Youngest starts secondary school - she came into my room in her uniform at 6.45, lol!!!! Think she's got butterflies but is excited as well. Oldest DD starts college Monday so proper peace has to wait until then, but she'll either be in her room all day or out with her mates today.

(((((((((((hugs)))))) for all those needing them. Off to catch up with the rest of yesterday's thread now.

Morning all, I was distracted from painting y/day as DH went to B&Q to get some brackets for more shelves in the utility and came back with the curtain pole I wanted to get last week, he said the one we had was ok. So I made the curtains and hung them in shower room. He fitted new pole and now curtains are 2" to long. Had to undo curtains and lining, repress and alter. Took me ages.

DF is coming to stay tomorrow and the bedroom is half painted and furniture piled in the middle of the room. It needs another 2 coats on the walls so will be going like the clappers.

DD2 is going for her first scan today, she's 13 wks pregnant. Fingers crossed all is well. Will cook her and SiL 2b sticky chicken, HM wedges and salad.
Gonna grab chilli from freezer for us. BM and WM on, will have to use TD as it's tipping it down. Still not put heating on, just extra jumpers.

DH collected veg from friend's garden who are on hols, (we look after their place) so lots of blanching and freezing to do. Will rope DH into doing that, and vacuming. He doesn't know yet. ;)

LADYGRIM, CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR 10TH ANNIVERSARY, It's Tin, hope you don't get some beans !

Off to catch up to date.

  • Good morning everyone

Happy Anniversary to Lord & Ladygrim
Dazi good luck with the interview.
Betheebee Glad to hear your DS is ok now but sending (((hugs))) to you and your DBs. Hope the scan goes well for your DD too.
Squiggly hope your DD enjoys her first day at school.
(((hugs))) too to those who need them especially Candygirl and parents, Jayward, Pen-Pin, redruby, Essex-girl and her DDad and smoky.

I want to say a HUGE thank you to twink. As I was going to bed last night I remembered her tip about sprinkling some lavender essential oil on a tissue to aid sleep. I did that and slept all night! :j :T :j :T :j :T :j :T I feel like a new woman today so thank you twink.

Job No 2 today. I think I'm going to try and have a chat with my boss as I know he is planning on retiring within the next 6 months or so but it would help me plan things if I had a more specific timescale. I'm now thinking about getting out of financial services altogether and trying something new - if I can find the job, that is. ;)

Made dinner in the Remoska last night and it was scrummy so I'm very pleased with it. I think it will be used regularly.

Bin day today and I'm glad I put the bins out last night as it is tipping down here now. Which reminds me, Charlie's Mum hope you get that Indian Summer for your DS's wedding.

No idea what's for dinner and I didn't get my DNiece's card made yesterday but now I have had some quality sleep I just might manage it today. :D

    Have a thrilling Thursday. xx

Morning, Miss Twit is back to school today. For some strange reason she is up bright and early  it won't last :D
Like Mioliere's DGD, she loves her sleep and always has done, even on christmas day, we always had to go and wake her up, all the other kids in the street were out on bikes, she was still in bed.

Lots of catching up today, so I'd better get cracking. The rain is easing off although it was torrential last night and this morning.....so pleased we live up a bit of a hill.

Congrats to the Grims and I'm sure I missed Aussie's anniversary earlier in the week (sorry)

Love and hugs to all The Twit. :grouphug:

    Morning all,

Happy anniversary to Lord and Ladygrim.
    Dazi, good luck!

Sorry, I haven't been keeping up with the thread this week so I've probably missed loads. :o

I've been up to my eyes with work in the evenings and I'm still getting used to the early mornings now that the kids are back at school. I'm really really really not a morning person! It doesn’t help that in a moment of madness during the summer I promised them a cooked breakfast...I’m learning that the cooker and I don't get on well at 6.30am. _pale_

The afternoons are a bit mad too. Ds has moved up to primary 5 and the homework’s are heavy so he needs a lot of help. Dd is working extra hours in her part-time job and is coming and going as she pleases. Ds1 is on the 'A' team for rugby and the team is taking part in an 'important' tournament this year which means he has training four afternoons a week. So between taxiing everybody around and me going out to work and everyone else coming in at different times, the evening meal is a logistical nightmare. Dd leaves for university in 17 days. Has she organized anything? Of course not! Apparently there's plenty of time and I'm fussing too much. I think I want to leave home. :wall:

Anyway, plans for today are to make something with apples. One of my patients last night gave me a huge bag of apples from the tree in her garden, so I want to use them up and make something nice for her too. The only problem is that she's recovering from a heart attack so I need to think of something semi-healthy. Tea tonight will be Delia's minestrone soup with homemade bread and something made from apples.

Just read back over my post and it reads a bit like a rant. :o Sorry I didn’t mean to moan but it made me feel better to type it.

Hope you all have a good day. :)
