Hello Tea,
sorry I havent popped in for a while - been too busy polishing my taps
you're doing very well at the moment - far better than me, I've spent over £200 so far this month & only managed one NSD.
I've been very frustrated by lightspeed recently, I spent a good 15 minutes doing a survey only to get screened out because I dont buy a certain type of junk drink. I would prefer to get screened out immediately rather than waste time being hopeful  .
Hope you're not getting too worried about the op - you deserve medals for the way you're coping with everything.
I'm so glad DS is enjoying school, it certainly makes life easier if the little darlings dont have to peeled off your legs every morning by a teacher  .
Take care of yourself hon & I'll pop back soon

Hi there Tea
The way things are at the moment, I think you're right to take money out from accounts as soon as you can, like the lightspeed. I'm just 90 points away from a fiver on that, so I'm going to *try* to do one more. They are difficult these days tho, like Lula Hula I keep getting screened out after loads of questions have been asked. Very irritating!
Anyway, hope you're doing well. The prospect of the op must be a bit daunting, but hopefully it will sort out all the pain.
Take care.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Well what a day and a half this has turned out to be!
DH and I each have ISA’s with Icesave and DH & I each have a saving account for Christmas; the ISA’s each have £3000 in them courtesy of FiL, which we were going to take out next year to clear the loan with SIL and enable us to have a bit of ease for a few months and be able to build it back up again over the next few years; a sort of a loan to pay a loan.
As Icesave is now likely to go down the toilet and everything is up in the air, I am now wondering whether it would have been a good idea to have taken out that money earlier and cleared as much of the loan as we could when we had access to it instead of thinking that the extra interest will come in handy when we finally get rid of the loan next year…hindsight is a wonderful thing eh?
Anyway on to the rest of today, well it was a NSDDH had suggested that I take the littlies to the soft play centre but I explained to him that it costs £20 each time we go and as they only went last week we cannot afford to go again this week. Point taken by DH, DS sulked for a bit but all is okay now.
Haven’t done much clicking today as I have been doing some housework, sorry I swore there but it had to be done
I am quite frightened about the op on Friday, but I think that is only because of the pain that I am going to be afterwards even though it will be only for a little while.
I have three Lightspeed surveys that need doing but cannot be bothered today, might have to have a go tomorrow when I get back from the hospital after the pre-op.
And to top it all off it has been doing nothing but raining today so I couldn’t even take the kids to the park this afternoon
Have been to playgroup this morning with DD, which she enjoyed and she walked most of the way there too :T0 -
Hi Tea,
oh, that is such cack news about your savingsI'm a bit ignorant on these matters but are they not 'secure' under the governments scheme to protect savers ?
The soft play sounds very pricey & like you say not really viable as a weekly option. It's so hard when the weather is rubbish because all those cheap things like picnincs in the park or by the river are just no good.
I dont think you can ever really know what's the best thing to do regarding money - I think some people are just lucky with timing & decisions & some are not so lucky  .
Although I'm on a mission to clear credit cards asap I've decided today that I need to start building up some savings too. I know this goes against DFW rules but frankly my job isnt looking too secure at the moment. My boss runs a 'luxury service' business & we're losing customers because their business's are going under. Now kinda wishing I hadnt moaned at her last week  .
How long are you being kept in for hon ? We'll miss you & your cheery positive updates
Will be back again tomorrow
take care

Didn’t get chance to update yesterday as I was waaay to busy. I will get back on top of things again once I am fixed
I did a couple of Lightspeed surveys yesterday but only qualified for one, still it’s 110 points towards more money. DH however had none, no big loss as he was in meetings all day yesterday.
I ordered some clothes from Grattan the other day for DB’s wedding and it arrived yesterday. I ordered it through one of the cashback sites and I got 20% off my first order with them, so pleased there and I had already saved up the money so could pay for it outright
Yesterday was also my third NSD of the week, however today I have been to Tesco’s for some magazines and puzzle books for the hospital; I also bought DS a magazine for being a good boy this week.
I will try and update tomorrow but will be offline from then for about a week or so. I am only in hospital over the weekend before being released and the operation is tomorrow about 4pm…I anticipate many NSD’s next week as I will be unable to spend anything, DH has offered to take the kids to soft play one day after school next week to give me a bit of a break.
I have been doing the cashback clicks and am pleased with how it is going, I am not making mega money but it is going up slowly
Take care everyone and I’ll be back tomorrow.0 -
Well, the day to day money sounds good - don't worry about your savings too much, you've got documentary proof of them, and you don't even need that really, you *will* get the money back - but I did hear that interested earned but not *credited* might not get to you. Interest already credited *will* - and at least the capital is safe. It could have been a lot worse, but I know thats small compensation.
If its not too late, remember the library for books and even cheap DVDs when you're home - but if you're anything like me, you can't concentrate on a book when you're in pain, you're right, its down to puzzles and maybe magazines/newspapers - there are compilation books tho, of newspaper writers, people like Stephen Fry, that you can just dip into for a bit.
Really awful about this pain, I hope you get through tonight without worrying too much. Is everything ready?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hi Tea,
sorry I havent been on before - busy trying to sort out employment dilemmas  , wishing you the very best of luck for tomorrow & lots of hugs too, I'll be thinking of you all day & look forward to hearing from you next week.
Take care & have plenty of rest hon,
lots of love & hugs

Morning,
The shopping arrived yesterday afternoon 10 minutes late but at least it arrived, the 4p curry looks ok and we will probably have it one day next week. According to the jar it should have been 27p so I defiantely don't mind paying 4p for it if it was their mistake.
On to today, I completely forgot DS's homework last night with worrying about today, so I need to make my excuses to his teacher and promise her that it will be done for Monday, give something for DH to do tonight whilst I am away.
I have to have my anti-inflamatory at 9:45 and then the last thing to eat at 10am, I am then on water until 2pm and then nothing til my op at 4pm.
Today will be a NSD as I don't need to buy anything, so all good there.
I doubt I will be back on later and will catch up again in a week.0 -
Good luck, I hope it all goes really well.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I’m back, nice to read that everyone is plugging away at their various things. Thank you to Lula, Moo2 & Karmacat for your support, I’m tons better than I was and raring to go in clearing even more of the debt.
I won’t be on much this week as this is the final week my mum’s down and I also have my DB’s wedding on Saturday; a proper update on things moneywise will be posted next week once I am up to date on where things are.
The debt is now well under £10k :T and I am very happy about that and I managed one NSD last week, going to aim for some more this week and hopefully reach my target.
We had to chop in the car and buy a new one, we had £3k to pay as we were at the end of the payment plan so we have now changed the car and got a superb deal in the process; the payments a month are slightly more but are do-able in the budget.
Right, I need to go as I have two kids to feed and clothe before mum arrives.
Have a good day everyone.0
