    Hi,
I take my weekly money out in cash, and anything left over (on the last day of each week) is now going into DS's money tin. When he has enough, say £20, we will put it into my bank account, which has a budget in it for him (it will likely be used for holiday spends etc). If you look on my sig you will see a heading 'DS's tin'. I am also saving for a new fridge freezer but thats the spare £1's/p's that we end up not withdrawing and are left in one of the curr acc's.

    Hello! :D
Could you put me down for £180 again this month please, we're having a week of in the middle of this month. We might go self catering to Wales, I'm on weather watch at the moment, it's looking grim though. I think if we do go, the slow cooker will be going with us!
If we don't go we'll be gloss painting skirting boards as we are going to get a new carpet in the living room.

Good luck everybody, and thanks very much to the organisers of this thread, it's muchly appreciated :A

    Hi everyone

Another newbie here. I've been reading the August GC with great interest and would love to take part starting 1st Sept (by calendar month).

    There's me, DH, DD1 (12), DD2 (11) + little DD (6). I'm aiming for £300 p/m which includes food, toiletries, cleaning products etc.

Thanks to everyone for all the great tips so far x

  • Hi MrsMc

I would like to set my target for September as £40.

My month started on the 22nd August and runs until 25th September which makes it a 5 week month for me, and have not spent any money on groceries till today, but will have to buy milk and stuff tomorrow.

    Cheers

I work 37.5 hrs a week - it's quite standard house I think? and I've always cooked - my friend joke that I can get a dinner on the table from scratch quicker than they can bing someting in the microwave!

    :o)

It's easy when you know how - and have the right things in... cooking from fresh is much better for you, but as I said U'll gets lots of ideas from the people on here

Find a few things you would find easy to cook and get the ingridents in - then you can make a start - maybe cook from fresh a couple of times a week plan it and see how you get on?

Hi MrsM - please can you put me down for £220 for September.

Thanks for all the hard work - can't believe how fast this thread has taken off this month. I'm off back to the August thread as I don't finish there until tomorrow but I will be back soon:D
