I am in for £120.00 for Mr EL and myself. Looking forward to a fresh new budget...!
In August we got lots of cereal, pasta and milk, so that saves money for September. I also expect to be eating porridge more now so MrEL gets all the Cheerios
Plans for September:
1) Get a cheap freezer to keep outside (no room inside!)
2) Go to LIDL and stock up on pesto, parmesan, coconut milk, cous cous, juice & more (if anything is cheaper than my pricebook... - see my blog for details by clicking my username)
3) Batch cook Queenie's Curry Base & freeze
4) Batch cook Sag Aloo & freeze
5) Only buy lunch at work max 4 times for the month (Friday treat maybe)
6) Buy no household items as August was expensive & we need nothing urgently
7) Transfer any September Grocery savings to our ISA (didn't happen in August due to point 6 above!
Welcome back to the UK AL and hope you settle back in ok :TMFW #185

9th challenge already! Welcome to all the new folks and good luck to all - have fun frugalising your grocery budgets.
As usual, I'm a '1st til last day of the month' challenger, but I'm all spent out for this month, so ready to start afresh for September. I'm averaging £105.21 per month this year, including my bulk buying spree, but hope to reduce that to below £100 by the end of September and then further reduce that to below £85 by the end of the year.
Store cupboard and freezer still pretty much full, baking cupboard full and plenty of potatoes, leeks & lettuce in the garden with some beetroot coming along nicely.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Evening, all. I'll be taking part again this month, running from today until September 28th, and my budget will be £160 again, as I didn't do too good for my first month at it.
I'll get better! As it is, the OH is amazed at how little our food bills are each week these days compared to pre-MSE
Continually trying the Grocery Challenge. Gotta keep trying!0 -
Think I was optimistic cutting back too much in school holidays.
Giving an allowance for the birthday treats last month, and back to school, I really should be able to go for 230 pounds for September please MrsM.
Thanks

I haven't been posting/changing my sig very often as I've been busy with hospital appts and trying to get my daughter sorted for going to Uni.Am still 'on this' though!
I am going to leave my budget at £180 please-although my daughter is flying the next, she doesn't go until 20th Spet plus I am trying to build a 'store cupboard' of essentials and other stuff for her to take with her,so won't be able to try to cut down further until Oct. Still finding this has really helped to cut my spending though-nsd are planned regularly.Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0 -
Loving the index at the beginning i am really looking forward to the challenge this month..i seem to find it easier as the year has gone on? How does everyone else feel about it?Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0
