Hi can I join, I shop weekly on a monday so can I be put down for £50 per week thats for me, Dh, DD1 and DD2, problem I have is that DD's are fussy eaters and always seem to want something different and DH just seems to want chips!!!. Have been lurking around the OS threads for quite a while and think they are brilliant, have already been converted to stardrops.0

OK, here we go!
I haven't kept track of the spend properly for several months now but I'm sure that we're still spending around 40% less than 12 months ago on groceries etc , which isn't bad considering we have two fast-growing 8-y-o boys. The thing is that the money-saving is more crucial than ever now ... and I'm trying to avoid the temptation to waste cash on comfort eating.
If it starts tomorrow, when does the September budget take us up to? Unless it's a full five weeks, I'm going to try for £200 so that we go some way to covering all the school shoes and football boots that we're supposed to be buying!
Good luck everyone!

victoriajj - my DF is exactly the same - its a fight getting him to have, say, rice or noodles, instead of bleeding chips with everything!0

Pink winged - wow thanks, lots of ideas there - I'll def get onto that one!
Mummysaver - that sounds great, thanks, im really determined to give that a go, if im completly honest - ive never cooked a meal, i left home when i was 17 and mum did the cooking and now im 19 and living with my OH - lucky enough though he can cook!
honeypop - thats really encouraging to hear, like you say if i get into a routine of making things in batches it should come easy to me oh and im glad you can still have chocolate - id go crazy without it. but i would rather make a chocolate desert that is cheaper so i will look into the recipes i have been given.
hot.chick - great advice - im thinking of starting on making my breakfast and dinner from scratch to begin with as i find that this is what makes my food bill expensive after that i will go the whole way and sort out evening meals to.
falady - good to hear about the offers - i dont have big stores like that near me but i would be more than happy to go there once a month to do the whole shopping and not go into another supermarket until that month is up (the nearest asda is an hour away!) lol no im not a good cook but ill start small
thanks everyone really looking forward to this now!xXx0 -
Can I join this month - did try before a couple of months back but it went to such pants I was too embarrassed to come back:o
This is a 5 week month for me so I will try for £400.All I want is an opportunity to prove that money doesn't buy happiness

Hi all,
This thread really does move fast - still haven't finished reading the August thread and this is here already at 5 pages!
Anyway,
Can I be put down for £300 please!
It's going to be a struggle it being a 5 week month but I have to do it as our mortgage is going up in November and I need to get used to living on less.
Good luck to all!
