    Hi Stacie

I'm another one who got married at 19, and remember making soup and leaving it to simmer with a plastic spoon in it :(

You have come to the right place, you will get lots of help and encouragement on here.

If you like curries, stews, soup etc. have you thought about a slow cooker. You could start with packet or jars of mixes, and just put all the ingredients in, set a timer to turn on 5/6 hours before you want to eat, and you could just put packet rice or jacket potatoes into the microwave to have with it. As you get more experienced, you could make your own which would be cheaper and better for you.

Have you tried Aldi for chocolate, it's much cheaper and it is lovely

There is lots of useful info on here, and if you 're not sure, there is always someone out there who can help

    Good luck

Just found this thread, haven't quite finished reading Augusts thread, but will be delaring at £187.60 which is a big WHOO HOO!! as I am under by just over £12.

I will go for £200 again for Sept even though it is only a 4 week month for me as I do have to do some stocking up.
    My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
    So we’re empty nesters.
    Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman

I saw somewhere where someone asked the question about freezing corn on the cob but didn't see the answer???? Does anyone know if I can freeze it as is or do I have to blanch it or something...TIA if you can help

Hi Sashanut, I blanch mine in boiling water for about 5 mins then freeze 'em when they've cooled down. I also cut mine in half as there's just me to feed and a whole one is a bit daunting!!!
It's up to me now and nobody else.
  • Ok count me in September £250 please.

Putting it back up a bit this month as i have been cutting it fine and what with my DS starting school full time i now have and extra 2-3 days of pack lunches to give him (my sis used to have him and feed him those days) for a 4yr old he eats a lot too. Also i am going back to work for more hours and naughty me used to miss lunch most days but will be working with a lunch so i know i will need lunches now too. So going to have to see how the next few months pan out.

Good news is that i have done my 1st shop and have a freezer so full i had to lock it to shut it Spend so far £142.38
    Still Trying :o
