Oh (((Frugalswan))) hope it all turns out OK for you.

Just seen the weather and it looks like there will be a mini heatwave here at the weekend :j :j , that will make it harder for the kids to go back to school next week!

Had a productive day, trainers and football boots bought, astro ones ordered on line. Just need to get DD's haircut and we are all ready to go. Love having the kids at home but really looking forward to getting back in my normal routine.

Just chillin at the moment, may do some baking in a min.

    Evening peeps,

((((HUGS)))) for you Frugalswan and for Mr Frugalswan too.

Sorry to hear about the job Morwenna, there will be something else just around the corner. ((((HUGS))) for you too.

Dorry - hope your doggie is feeling better now and enjoyed the walk

Betheebee - ((((HUGS)))) hope that you manage to get some rest tonight, lack of sleep is awful, fingers crossed for some pain free time for you!

    My remoska arrived today WOOHOO!!:j

It probably won`t get used until my day off though, i`ve hardly any food in and no time at all, i want to enjoy it and not rush through and end up with bad results:D

For all the readers out there i love reading, i don`t have time at the moment and i no longer read in bed as i have a tendency to stay awake all night to find out what happens next and then i go to work feeling ill all day and i`m useless  DH also loves to read and we have gone through thousands of books in the last few years. We sent boxes and boxes to charity shops when we moved and have many boxes packed away in various parts of the house, if we ever get organised they will be back out on new bookshelves and all will be re read. I love the winter time all curled up on the sofa with a book whilst the wind howls outside.
Off to sort out my [STRIKE]bombsite[/STRIKE] kitchen now so have a lovely evening everyone and i will see you all tomorrow.

    Hello all,

    *hugs to all*

I hope everyone is well, had a nice day today..went on a trip to tesco where we got a goodie pack for back to school, then me and little bro helped mum make some fish and potato cakes.

I love reading, I got out of the habit when I had to read lots of different things for my final year dissertation at uni, but after winning two books in the comps bit of the site I shall get reading again. I love reading on train journeys but I can't seem to read in the car makes me feel sick...very odd!!

Heard from my best friend who's off traveling..made me feel a little blue cause I'm at home, but she will be home soon and hopefully I will be all sorted so we can go have fun!

Hope everyone has a nice evening

  • Evening all,

    there went another day!!!

((((((((((((((((betheebee, the frugalswans, morwenna)))))))) and everyone else who is having a carp time..... :(

MrsMoneypenny, well done to your DD, that's brilliant news :)
Taplady, my oldest DD will enrol at college this Friday so we're doing the same as you. I phoned up for an EMA application form 2 weeks ago & still waiting. Someone else was told it would take 3 weeks to arrive. I (stupidly, obviously) thought either they would apply via college or we could do it online....
Redruby, hope your DD is feeling better.
Dorry, oops..... definitely a blonde moment!!! I had to phone a service user for directions as to exactly where on a country lane their house was, and then you had to drive in round the back through a farm (?!), and when I got into the house he said "I knew you'd be blonde"!!!!!!!!!! lol.... I grinned through gritted teeth....

I love reading too - I've been in heaven the past few weeks reading all sorts of "chick-flick" type books - from the library. Onto my last 3 now (by mid-next week they'll be done). And then it's back to textbooks till next summer :(

Realised earlier there was no hot water or heating (not that I'm using the heating) so called the plumber who came the other day - and eventually found the reset button on the boiler....lol. So now it's working again :)

    Evening all,

Went to Superquinn...our most 'upmarket' chain this pm with OH, decided to ask for some yeast, girl said 'do you want a block?', I said yes and ended up with a kilo of yeast, costing €7.50....they don't do free yeast....now have enough to keep Ireland in bread, broke it into roughly 1in cubes and it is now in freezer...so lots of baking in the future.

Someone who used to live next door to us, the only one of his family not to have heart/bp problems died suddenly this afternoon, he was about 70 I think...will do some baking in the morning and go visit his wife.

Annual Rose of Tralee contest is on at the moment, must go in a bit and see if I can pick the winner...not supposed to be a 'beauty' contest, allegedly based on personality, etc, wonderful festival week there, but you need to be young and fit.

    Have a nice evening everybody

(((hugs))) to frugalswan - the wedding will take place and everything will be just fine - just doesn't seem this way right now. You are both stressed - do you like things like herbal tea, lavender drops on your pillow? I know these sound small things but they do help. Thinking of you.

(((hugs))) morwenna - it's so annoying when you know what didn't go as well as it could have. Hope you are beginning to feel a bit better

wow - Marie - enjoy the Rose of Tralee contest. I'll bet the whole atmosphere is great

(((Hugs))) to Frugalswan and commiserations to Morwenna; it wasn't meant to be - the perfect job will come your wat, I'm sure.

Beth - (((Hugs))) to you; I think you do too much, especially on so little sleep. You obviously need the other operation but you should explain that you don't want it to cause you problems like your last one has. It must be horrid to live with pain like that.

Well, we had Spaghetti Bolognese for dinner - I made the bolognese in the Remoska which was a great success as was the rice pudding, also made in the Remoska! It really is earning its keep!

I managed to get all the ironing done so tomorrow is free for paperwork - unless something else crops up.

DH thinks he has won a big contract with a firm which carries out home improvements for the disabled and elderly. We may soon have the decision to make on whether or not he becomes a limited company. At the moment he's a sole-trader but will need to change things a bit if pricier work comes in steadily. I shall try and find out a bit more about what it all entails.

Well, I've had a nice long bath with my lovely Rescue Oil in it which is lovely and very moisturising. A real treat and only £1.69 a bottle! I think it's the poor man's Bio Oil but it works a treat on sensitive dry skin.

Anyway, off for sit down and maybe some knitting.

    See you all later.

    Evening everyone

Sorry things have been rough for you Frugal. I hope you get good news soon.
Sorry about the job Morwenna. I'm sure a better one will come along soon.
Hope your Dad is feeling brighter soon Candy.
Beth. I agree with Moliere.... Take it easy. x
Kathy.... That's great news about OH's work. PM me if you want any info on becoming a ltd co. ;)
Congratulations to Miss Moneypenny on great exam results.

The soup and rice pud were lovely this evening but I feel a bit overstuffed. :o Just about to make sandwiches for tommorrow and check the girls' uniforms. Didn't manage to get the ironing done but I have sorted it and put away the clean laundry that doesn't need ironed.

    Sleep well everyone.

Big hugs for FrugalSwan and Morwenna.
Meanmarie, that sounds like the sort of thing that would happen to me. :rotfl:
Sybil, hope you and little bear had a good day.

Squiggly, you asked earlier if I skate, unfortunately no. Dan comes into the shop where I work, he is such a lovely person. Taking up skating is very tempting, especially if he was throwing me around the ice

This afternoon I went bootsing and picked up some good deals, thanks to the girls on the boots grabbit thread. If you have any of those till spit things and the No7 vouchers, have a look for the best way to spend them.

Oh well, back to the ironing.

    Love and hugs The Twit.
