Welcome back R.Mac - I expect you've been well and truly pampered! How are you feeling now? Hope the morning sickness has stopped. By the way, when is your due date?

I've hoovered and dusted downstairs, swept the porch and the kitchen floor, got rice pud in the Remoska and bread dough rising. Washing will get pegged out in a mo even though it looks quite gloomy. I need to get the ironing done and then I'll visit the gym; after that I shall be starving hungry so I will have lunch and take a bit of a snooze! Paperwork has now been procrastinated until tomorrow when I should have less to do.

I didn't realise it was National Breakfast week - I've had porridge with Goji berries, sultanas and pumpkin and sunflower seeds and some HM bread toasted with marmalade. That usually keeps me going until lunch. Usually in the summer we don't feel like porridge but, as we haven't had summer this year, we've carried on eating it; it's a lot cheaper than other cereals!

I made a lovely Potato and Leek soup in the Remoska yesterday - it was a great success. DH loved it so I shall definitely be doing that again - such a cheap lunch, too; two potatoes, one large leek, one onion, some garlic and butter all cooked together until the potatoes go soft, cooled, blended, reheated and served with cream - it was delicious. I need to experiment with different soups because eat a lot in the winter and the tinned variety is getting dear and dearer!

Anyway, off to start the ironing!

    See you later.

Well back from the vet's - Leo was a complete wuss as usual but is now duly vaccinated, inspected and manicured (never had that before!!!) Final diagnosis was that he is 'robust' so we can live with that!!

Didn't bother with rabies this time as i don't intend to travel with him again - once was more than enough for both of us!

Anyway - he's hiding under bed now just incase anything else awful happens today!

The saving grace was that there were caged birds in the waiting room to watch!

Off to get ready to go to mum's now.

    have a good Tuesday!

    Good morning :hello:

    I don't feel very awake yet :o

DH has to take the hire car back today (we hired a big people carrier for our holiday) - it's a Chrysler Grand Voyager and it's huge - it'll be strange to be back in a smaller car again! I enjoyed sitting so high up.

Will have to go shopping today, so I'll have to try a bit of meal planning while DH is taking the car back. Still feeling very anxious about providing meals suitable for someone with diabetes :o I've bought some appropriate cookbooks but it would cost a fortune to make some of the things they suggest. DH and I are going on a "course" next month - 5 weekly sessions - to learn more about it all. He has got books from Diabetes UK but nothing beats talking to other people in the same situation.

Churchmouse, Stefejb, VickyA, bargain Rzl, Mrs_mix, Betheebee, Catowen :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello:

AussieLass (((HUGS))), but glad to hear your DSis's results were good at any rate. Sorry for waffling so much in my pm btw :o

((((HUGS)))) to everyone in need of one today.

Did 4 loads of washing yesterday and there's more to do - and the way the weather's going, I'll have to get my jumpers out from the bottom of the laundry bin :o and wash those too! I've been ignoring them since I went into teeshirts, as there's no room for both in the wardrobe at the same time :p

I also need to get the sewing machine out and re-hem one of the towels which has come unstitched in the wash, but at least that's an easy job. Provided I can clear a big enough space on the table, at any rate :D

All for now, will try to catch up later.

    Best wishes

:hello: Hope everyone had a good Bank Holiday, just skimmed todays thread, not gone through weekends yet ,but send good wishes to Aussies gs.
    Morwenna,hope the interview goes well.

I've gone off the boil regarding meal planning,it's all there listed,a months worth, but because my freezer is quite full at the mo I've not been sticking to it.Then I forget to take stuff out and end up panicking about tea,so I need to get a grip again-it's much easier in the long run.I do know what we're having tonight though, turkey pieces dne in the Remoska.

Need to have a good tidy up now.I know it was only one extra day to the weekend, but having DH andDS around longer makes for a messier home

Its so dull here I've got the light on.That goes against the grain.Still it's not cold. The dog needed to go out at 4am,and I was surprised how warm it felt then.

Better get cracking.Have a good day all. xx

The passionfruit syrup  was a great success. On top of the icecream & not the lasagne. Really girls. :p Pay attention. :D

Ivyleaf I'm use to waffling PM's. Waffle all you like. ;) The course sounds interesting.
Sybil Actually there were 6 adults in the house at the time that I know of.
Ruby You will have to share a bone with the dog seeing as it's his birthday. :D
charlies mum I would put in on the boil again and thicken it with cornflour mixed with a bit of water. Start at about 2 tablespoons & keep going upwards until it's thick. Everyone knows that. :p:D
Poppy Our little dog frets at the vet's too. I think it's the smell. Hope they are quick.

Well other than tea, dishes & shower nothing really exciting has happened. Enjoy the rest of the day & I"m off to watch Grumpy Old Women. :D Byeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Hi,

ive not posted on this kind of thread for ages, hope no one minds me coming back. I guess I kind of need to off load to someone.

I have my SIL and her family staying with us, and tomorrow they are emigrating to Canada  . I am going to miss her so much, she is like my best friend, and my son is going to miss is cousin, they are so close, more like brother and sister.

I keep telling everyone not to be sad because its not like we are never going to hear/see them again, and in these times, its really easy to keep in touch with people who live abroad, but, im going to miss her so much.

Big hugs Jackie......which part of canada are they going to? I expect to see a new line in your signature.....savings for trip to Canada. I'm sure you'll sort out a cheapo way of staying in touch, maybe Skype or something like that
