Afternoon! Went out to get some replacement glass for the pane I smashed with a stone that flew up whilst I mowed the lawn, but the shop wasn't there any more! Ho hum, will have to go to town tomorrow and visit another glazers!

Had some very nice carrot soup and hm rolls for lunch, and have made the meatballs and sauce for tea, cooked the meatballs already in the remoska and will heat them through later in the sauce whilst I boil the spaghetti, so tea's all sorted out. Found two mini onion tarts in the fridge, leftovers made when I did a big one the other day, so will take one in with some salad to work for my dinner.

dd1 and dd3 have decided they'd like to join St John's Ambulance kids divisions, so waiting for a call to let me know times and nights, hope they fit in with the other stuff, especially my working hours! Sure we'll sort something out, round here everyone is really good about lift sharing.

ds is in a much more helpful mood, despite trying to convince me he had an ingrowing toenail this morning! Well it was a bit long really, just needed cutting. Apparently it was too painful to allow him to mow the front lawn, so he cleaned the windows instead?! oh was just saying he was trying to get out of the lawns when I pointed out that I was meant to take ds out to get his school shoes, and for some reason he doesn't want any, so that'll be why he has a sore foot that he can't put into any footware at the mo! lol! His school is really strict on correct uniform though, so he will find himself in the special learning unit and wearing daps if he doesn't wear the right shoes in next week, silly boy!

Best go and sort out my uniform, prob needs ironing, think dd2 folded and put it away! Have good afternoons/evenings all xx

Haven't had a chance to get on today as I've been rushed off my feet.
Tidied away the last of the decorating stuff this morning, cleaned the bathroom and our bedroom and swept and washed all the floors. Then I hit the kitchen and made...... Cullen Skink for tonight, Brown bread, crusty rolls, rice pudding, chocolate brownies, rocky road and lemon fairy cakes. Also have some stock reducing for the freezer. :D Most of the dishes are done but the kitchen needs a clean now.

Need to do the girlies homework with them in a minute and have ironing to do tonight.

Hope the interview went well Morwenna
    More hugs for DGS Aussie.
I'm sure that you and DSIL will keep in touch JackieW. Still hard though. x
Is your DD still away Stef?

    Take care all

    Hello folks
(((hugs))) to those under the weather.
Sybil - could you leave a note as a reminder for yourself with your tablets? Maybe on the fridge door?
jackie-w I'm another one who recommends skype. I used to speak to DD a lot when she lived in Australia. With having webcam it is soooo good to see them.
All those who are encouraging men to read - yipppeeeaction-smiley-033.gifaction-smiley-033.gif- I teach Communication at college and it's compulsory for those without GCSE English (under 19s) and you wouldn't beliiieeeeeeeve the amount of young men who never read books of any kind. Can't tell you re the numbers of those reading who are 'good' at English (or passing exams) but I get the impression that reading doesn't come high on the list of pastimes. My DH has started reading at bedtime action-smiley-033.gif (hhmmm.....that makes me sound very boring - I've converted him to bed-time reading speechless-smiley-040.gifspeechless-smiley-040.gif ) but he had to find books that interested him and would never choose to read a novel. Still, to lose yourself in a book is just fabulous, isn't it? Someone mentioned The Book Thief. I read it last year when my son was ill in hospital and used to read it on the journeys back and fore, in my hotel etc. I just love that book - it really helped me to escape what was going on.

First day back at work and it was ok. Lovely to see my colleagues again. The computer network was playing up though.

Well, dog walking and reheating of chicken, gravy and veg for me.
    Have a lovely evening peeps

    Afternoon all,

Haven't managed to post even though I was up at 5.10. I feel like a zombie after having woken 4 times last night. Think I'm going to have to accept that the op is the only solution even though the first op is still giving jip. I can't keep going on 2 hrs sleep at a time. Have been quite scratchy and tearfull, DH is keeping busy outdoors. Bless him but I do keep him filled with lunch and coffees.
Shalln't go into what I achieved y/day as only got a third of the list crossed off. Have done cleaning and cooking today but not much else. To fed up.:(

Thank all of you :A who have asked after and sent hugs to my 2 DB's
SQUIGGLY, No I haven't spoken to DB2 since he told his kids. I keep phoning but at times he retreats and shuts the world out, he can't come to terms with SiL leaving him last year let alone the Melanoma and severe deppresion.

CANDYGIRL, Hope your DDad is comfortable, it must get him down not being able to get out. Please take care of yourself and keep an eye on your BP.

AUSSIEGIRL, Hope DGS is not hurting to much, amongst your hugs please pop one in from me. ps. Glad you liked my recipe, Thanks for saying so.

MOWENNA, Hope the interview went well and you managed to sit down during it, I did that to my coccyx, Soooo painful.

IVYLEAF, I'm sure you're cope fine with the Diabetic meal plans, have you Googled some?

Hi all, hope everything's going ok. It's been a while since I've posted on here, but I do look in. It's just been insanely busy lately. I've also been having a rough time - the OH has been having massive migraines which has been scary for the both of us, and I'm suffering from stress-related stomach problems again :( I'm very very down and could use a hug. The place we had provisionally booked for our wedding next year said they'd come back to me to confirm everything ... three weeks later no response (in spite of me leaving message after message) and I finally get through today. New people in the conferences department, and it seems as though they can't find my provisional booking, and someone else has the date...

Plus, my dress hasn't arrived yet. I'm really worrying (verging on minor paranoia) that it's not going to happen :(:(:(

    Hi all

Thanks for all your good wishes - I didn't get it... I know where I went wrong and have been kicking myself all the way home. I have been having a self indulgent little cry - stupid I know, as many people don't have a job at all. Just cross at myself I suppose. Oh well, there is always next time :D
