You don't need to put a middle name in when booking flights unless there is a space for middle names. I have never booked flights on a site that asks for a middle name.:j Debt free since 31/01/08:j

The middle name is not required, so I would be fine to put dg rather than dmg
thanks
as my name is mary jane smith (for example)
but i always just put mary smith, on any forms,
and i've just booked easyjet flights and used the name mary smith.
but everyone calles me jane.0 -

yes I've made an error, but I accept it's MY error not the company trying to rip me off.
OP Put it down to a lesson learnt and enjoy the holiday.0 -

spot on, i suppose people want to let off steam about the outrage, it aint going to make them feel better though, because all the feed back they get is , its your fault , didnt you read terms and conditions
ryanir and easyjet they just love typos0 -
The MSE Dictionary
Loophole - A word used to entice people to read clearly written Terms and Conditions.
Rip Off - Clearly written Terms and Conditions.
Terms and Conditions - Otherwise known as a loophole or a rip off.0 -
So do you think there should be EU wide legislation, with the sharpest of teeth, to stop airlines and other companies having rip off terms and conditions such as this and how would you propose that changes in legislation should be introduced?
There is British legislation already in place in the form of UCTA, nonetheless it has yet to be applied. I have no idea what the outcome would be. Needless to say id follow it with interest if action ever did get brought.0 -
ok uno what, when i was once booking guestlist for a club i knew my mates surname but rang her anyway to DOUBLE CHECK. for such a thing as minor as a guestlist id do the same for a flight ticket. its common sense really. But the OP was booking for 4 people and he made a mistake with someone else's name - not his own.
I wouldn't make a mistake with MY name but maybe this other person is called by his second name, which is why the mistake happened.
if you dont know, or arent sure, CHECK FIRST!0 -
Hi
I bought and paid for return flights for 4 people, a couple of months ago.
However, I used a members second name on the booking form instead of their first name which is on their passport.
So Easyjet have charged me £20 each way to change the name. That's fair enough but what is outrageous is they have charged me over £100 on top becuase they say the price of the fare has gone up.
I have already paid for the flight, how can they get away with it.
Well done Easyjet for keeping up with the "RIP OFF BRITIAN" campaign.
Here is what they say:
"Each change is subject to a £20.00 fee (a saving of £10.00 over the call centre)
plus any increase in flight fare, per passenger per flight.
For full details see our carrier's regulations."
you must be fed up by now, being told how carefully you should've checked the t and c's, but I'm afraid ALL the budget airlines are in the habit of shoring up their profit margins by loading up t and c's. that's just the way it is.
I see this is your first post, so welcome to the site. (although you'd never guess you were THAT welcome, judging by some of the spiteful, venomous responses - jeez, aren't they right up themselves. God only knows how they got to be so intelligent).
this wasn't a rip-off. it was an expensive lesson. and not one you're likely to forget.
I wasn't aware that easyjet could rack up the charges in this way, that's because I only ever book for myself/OH. but nothing would surprise me.
if nothing else, this thread has flagged a waning up to the less wary.miladdo0
