Ill let Daveboy answer that comment:

I will first admit for mistaking you for the OP...an error for which I apologise.

But what I said still stands to the OP - if I make a mistake I'll happily own up to it and apologise.

As for the colon quip, I'd be dead without losing 90% of it so that was a bit unnecessary....and I'd watch what you say as there are more people out there with stomas than you'd realise.

Likewise - Jumping on someones back and telling them they deserve a £100 charge - and on a money saving forum - makes you attract the response i gave you.
    :D

You do have a very vivid imagination
This "From elsewhere in this forum "I've yet to open a thread containing the words 'rip off' which is appropriately titled."

is a long, long, long way away from "Jumping on someones back and telling them they deserve a £100 charge.........."

As for advice that is relevant to a Money Saving forum, I've got some here.
Its a reallly good one ---- Before hitting the 'Enter/order now/book now" key on an online order form, make sure that ALL the details are correct. If some of the details are incorrect, the service provider is likely to make a charge for correcting your error (in some cases, this charge may be considerable).
But these charges are avoidable by you taking a bit more care in yourwork.

Some people refer to it as 'Taking Personal Responsibilty For Their Own Actions', but I'm sure that other folks would call that unfair practice by the Service Providers.

I meant no malice in my comment. I do apologise for the comment. I was highlighting a fact of not expecting people to say what you want.

Either way it was out of order, and for that i apologise.

Over the past few years there has been a big push regarding the banks and thier charges.

All these charges were I assume in the t and c . However it was seen that these were unfair.

I see this a much the same. It is not a rip off but unfair?

I so wish that was aimed at me as I lost most of mine in January

Have you checked behind the fridge? Whenever i lose something it nearly always ends up there.

OK ok so let's ditch these 'rip off' charges, meaning a significant increase in fare costs (which those of us who take the time to enter our details correctly will 'benefit' from).
Then we can have 'Easyjets fares nowawadays are a rip off' threads. Great.

This may have been said, the reason they charge the difference in the new cost of the flight is to stop people booking them early (at a low price) then selling them on! As its been said they do not charge sometimes when its clearly a mis spelling, but they can! The name change is not over the top, but if yr passport says alfred is yr middle name, best you put that on the online form!

Now here is a STD number For EJ..................01582 7000 361 ..........press one for an English speaking person!

Tip 1 if not speaking good enough English put fone down ring again. Its normally in Poland

Tip 2 If not a helpfull CSA, ring again

Tip 3 Sunday about 1pm seems a good time to get through

Easyjet have treated this situation as if the ticket were being passed from one person to another. I am sure that the OP contacted them about the problem and asked for a "name change" and was treated accordingly. The fee to correct a spelling mistake (which is what this is, in effect) should be a good deal lower.
if OP booked john ringo, changing it to paul ringo it will count as a different person. if OP had spelt it funny then maybe they would have a chance of getting it for free, ie, pauul ringo instead of paul ringo.

but to them its a different name to the booking regardless.

    Its like a book this.

User comes on and tells how he feels he has been ripped off....

EXACT same users as in all the other threads re rip off, come and say how its his own fault. Some of you really must think you are it. Have you never made a mistake? You are pathetic.
Get your head out of your backsides and realise that £100 for the reason stated is a rip off. You really are nasty bitter people.
hell to tha no... names are simple, youve had it most of your life. plus theres a page to check before proceeding. NO excuses when it comes to name.
