Unhelpful moron!
You have obviously never made a mistake in your life, and have therefore never made anything!
And I love you too!
In fact I've just booked some flights, I checked the details before entering my card details, then just before I hit the pay button. Easier and cheaper to check than sort out the problems after.0 -
The name change I dont think is an issue with the charges but the rip off comes with updating the flight cost , there is nothing wrong with the flight booking. They agread with the t&c but dont we all do that because we are not going to do anything wrong are we.0

I also think it is wrong to charge the fare difference when making name changes. What a slimy money making scheme on Easyjet's side!
There is no decent reason to do that!Best wins ever:
2012: Holiday to LA for 2 adults +2 kids for 4 days
2013: £2 000 Virgin Holiday Voucher!
2014: $1000 spending money for hols
2015: 8 night holiday to Thailand0 -

Yes there is, and it's pretty simple.
It's to stop a third party buying all the cheapest seats then selling them on at a higher price and only paying for the name change fee.
I might buy two tickets for a flight, then sell the second on close to the flight date and make enough money to cover my trip and a little bonus too.
If you can find a fool-proof way to discriminate between someone speculating, and a genuine customer then forward it to easyjet.Legal team on standby0 -
I haven't read the complete thread, so apologies if I repeat anything. I booked a flight with EJ a couple of years ago for my friend and used her married name, but she had not changed it on her passport. I called them and they only charged the basic fee - there was no charge for the difference in flight price. They were lovely about it actually.0

Mary Jane Smith
And you booked the flight in
1 - Mary Smith
2 - Jane Smith
which one would be wrong, i was lead to believe that number 1 would be ok, the 2nd would be wrong. My understanding is that number 1 is correct, and number 2 is likely to lead to problems.
You would hope that common sense would prevail if you got to the airport and explained the problem, but they would not have to accept it, as the ticket could have been originally booked for your sister, Jane Mary Smith!
When you say "number 2 is likely to lead to problems", is there a definitive answer on this one?
I'm currently in the same boat and wondering whether to risk having a [STRIKE]row[/STRIKE] discussion at the gate over middle name/first name order, or to fork out £106 to change it now.
If somebody can show me categorically that it is forbidden then I'll pay otherwise Im very tempted to try my luck.0
