AND before anybody slags me off again how many of you have taken something back to a shop becuase it was the wrong size, colour or didn't go with a pair of shoes or handbag. Maybe YOU should have read the label, checked the size and / or colour.

Just think how YOU would feel, if you took something back and they charged you to change it OR, it was now in a sale and they said they would only give you the sale price back and NOT a FULL refund.

Just think, If I had a £ for every reply posted I would just be in profit.

Please bear in mind that the retailer is under no obligation whatsoever to take back something, just because you bought the wrong size, colour etc, etc. If they do, they do it through good will.

But thats standard operating practice with retailers and has been ever since Noah set off on his cruise ship (Mrs Cat has been caught out by this many times over the years - keeping something for to long before taking it back. The crucial difference being that she only blames herself for her lack of activity. She doesn't try to shift the blame onto the entirely 'innocent' retailer.)

Will you split your £1 per post with me ?

Exactly, MTC, which is why I think that this comparison scenario put forward by the OP just doesn't make sense and has no bearing on the Easyjet name change issue.

I think that you may be the first person who has tried to guess at how many people make a Pigs Ear of filling in online forms.
Have I got it rigt that you think that for every ultra low cheapy fare, you think that 3 passengers will muck up their booking ? So if Ryanair (for want of a better guide) offer 2 million seats for a £, you would expect 6 million bookings to be mucked up by the customer.

Are people really that careless/sloppy/uneducated etc etc

Yes, you only have to look on this board. As said in the post below yours, the amount of complaints about such things is rising. It's not just the mistakes that make up for the £5 fare, it's the extras that most people can't go without when on holiday "luggage" and the unavoidable credit card charge
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I've travelled round the World with just hand baggage - it can be done. Regarding cc charges with budget Airlines, get a Visa Electron card, it's pretty simple!

Perhaps if we keep these threads going long enough someone might take the hint and improve our education system so people can actually fill in forms correctly!

Then we can start teaching them about percentages so they can calculate prices better.

"When I was a lad................" (Waits for reply that says Lloyd George was in Downing Street!)

Mind you, I filled in a form correctly today to buy Premium Bonds for a grandson. And our friendly local post office didn't know what to do with it!!! Close 'em all I say and give the business to Tesco!
  • I am amazed at how many self righteous people there are on this group.

LesD How DARE you talk to me like that. I CAN fill out forms and lets hope you do not pass on your rudeness to your grandson.

Still you wouldn't be British if you didn't laugh at others misfortune.

PS. I hope Ernie looses your bonds.:p :p:p:p:p

how the !!!! can you say you can fill out forms, when you're here complaining that you did one !!!!ing wrongly, and think that easyjet should change it without a fee..

you filled the form in wrongly, you do need educating, i am self righteous..

in the past 6 years, i've made 14 transatlantic trips, all booking flights online, some for myself, some for the whole group.. not once have i made a mistake. so therefore i know how to fill in forms, you bluddy well don't and need to understand that the terms are there, you agreed to them when you purchased your flights, and you !!!!ed up, hence the t's&c's come into effect, and you pay the difference..

you made me swear... rare i do that!

Are you sure about that? Your very first post said:
I bought and paid for return flights for 4 people, a couple of months ago.
However, I used a members second name on the booking form instead of their first name which is on their passport.

Indeed you can. Now proceed to the next level. Filling in forms correctly.:D

    BTW, this
    > :D is called a smilie.

It often denotes humour in posts, & in certain circumstances (like on online forums), it can make the difference between blowing your top and pausing, taking a deep breath, and having a laugh, maybe even at yourself.

I think, to be fair to the OP, he made an understandable mistake.

It's not one that I personally would have made, and reading some of the replies on this thread, it's not a mistake that a lot of other people would have made either.

But I CAN understand how it happened.
I don't think it's a case of not being able to complete forms, the OP just assumed (bad mistake, I know) that the name he knew one passenger by was the name on that person's passport. It's not as though he mis-spelled the name.

If it's acheived nothing else, I hope this thread will save other people from making the same mistake. :money:

For one thing, I'm beginning to lose the will to live reading all these complaints about budget carriers, their charges for credit/debit cards, their policy on changes, their charges for overweight luggage, priority boarding etc etc.
