Easy jet also does the same but it is the luck of the draw who you speak to . I did the exact same I put my own name down twice instead of mine & my wifes name ( I used the automatic form filler on my computer). As I was travelling next day I waited till I got to airport The girl on the desk was very sympathetic. She said it is a common mistake.Gavioli_UK wrote: »It happened to me. I arrived at Leeds/Bradford in good time before the flight, went to Jet2.com sales desk, explained what had happened. They looked at my passport, said no problem and changed the booking name.
I asked if there was a charge, and was told no. The charge is only made if it is obvious a different person making the flight to that booked.
I think it helps to rectify problems face to face, and I know this is not always possible.
Well done Jet2.com0 -
While travelling back home I was issued a ticket at check in with a different forename than was on my passport. I didnt notice they had made a mistake until going to board the plane..I was getting myself prepared for getting bumped off but nobody batted an eyelid when checking the passport.0

Hi
I did a similar thing yesterday or Easyjet said I did.
On my booking email it showed my dads name as first name. But with my title and surname. I used my dads details to pay for the flight.
I rang them as soon as I received the email and saw the error. I had booked 4 journeys (2returns in Uk) for £120.
After much talking they agreed to waive the name change charges as they saw it was a mistake. However they said I would have to pay any difference in the flight prices. Bearing in mind this call took place 15 mins after booking the flight (10 minutes of this was spent on hold to the contact centre!). So I wasn't expecting any difference. I was wrong! Apparently the flight prices via the contact centre are higher than the online charges so they want an extra £50 off me. It's crazy.
I would understand if I made my booking via the phone but I didn I made it online with online prices!
With £50 I could get another return flight.
Does any one have any advice or suggestions?0 -

That was helpful thanks!0

Is this a record for the longest time between one post and the next? The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

Hi
I bought and paid for return flights for 4 people, a couple of months ago.
However, I used a members second name on the booking form instead of their first name which is on their passport.
So Easyjet have charged me £20 each way to change the name. That's fair enough but what is outrageous is they have charged me over £100 on top becuase they say the price of the fare has gone up.
I have already paid for the flight, how can they get away with it.
Well done Easyjet for keeping up with the "RIP OFF BRITIAN" campaign.
Here is what they say:
"Each change is subject to a £20.00 fee (a saving of £10.00 over the call centre)
plus any increase in flight fare, per passenger per flight.
For full details see our carrier's regulations."
I can't see that this is anything other than a rip off.
The £20 charges were for the changing the name on a existing booking. They then disregarded the existing booking and the charge to change it and made a new booking for £100 without any informed consent.0 -

Unhelpful moron!
You have obviously never made a mistake in your life, and have therefore never made anything!0 -
But the reason they charge you for the price difference is to stop people buying loads of cheap flights and selling them on and only having to pay the £40 name charge feeMake £11,000 in 2011 challenge - £120/£11,0000
