It might be a sad state of affairs, but that is why the charges for not being savvy bare no relation to the actual cost involved. For every £5 fare sold, you can bet your bottom dollar there are 3 pax. who made a small mistake and coughed up more than the actual cost of the flight. These airlines, car hire companies, credit card companies, etc love the tinternet, they don't have to accept responsibility for mistakes and hide things in the T&C's that are specifically there to catch people that don't spend 5 minutes thinking before hitting the "accept" button when they see a low price.

I think that you may be the first person who has tried to guess at how many people make a Pigs Ear of filling in online forms.
Have I got it rigt that you think that for every ultra low cheapy fare, you think that 3 passengers will muck up their booking ? So if Ryanair (for want of a better guide) offer 2 million seats for a £, you would expect 6 million bookings to be mucked up by the customer.

Are people really that careless/sloppy/uneducated etc etc

come on murphy.. you're here as much as I am.. yes people are careless and sloppy, otherwise we wouldn't be able to have as much fun as we do on posts like this!

the amount of, [insert company name here] is a [insert word like rip off or scam here], posts on this board just seem to keep going up and up and up, and it is amazing really. 99% of the time it is the customers fault, but they think everything should just be sorted out, without any charges or anything...

    So,answer a straight question.

Do you think Sleazyjets charges to rectify a customers mistake are fair, and proportional to the work involved? yes or No.

    No.

    But why should it be?

I posted this for two reasons. One to point out the unjust actions of Easyjet and to warn others to be aware and two, yes to have a moan.

NOWHERE have I said it was Easyjets FAULT and yes the error is all mine.

However, my point all along is how unfair it is to be charged again for the same flight.

I read your comments about buying cheap flights and selling them on to others but this is the SAME person.

AND before anybody slags me off again how many of you have taken something back to a shop becuase it was the wrong size, colour or didn't go with a pair of shoes or handbag. Maybe YOU should have read the label, checked the size and / or colour.

Just think how YOU would feel, if you took something back and they charged you to change it OR, it was now in a sale and they said they would only give you the sale price back and NOT a FULL refund.

Just think, If I had a £ for every reply posted I would just be in profit.

Yep, I'll have to hold my hand up to this.

But, the difference is that I KNEW that it wouldn't cost me to return goods - otherwise I would have tried them on or checked the size/colour before putting my hand in my pocket (or in your case, clicking on the 'PAY' button).
If I buy anything, I keep the receipt so even if it does go in the sale, I still get back the amount I've paid.

This scenario just doesn't make sense, it has no relationship to the situation you found yourself in.

Because if it isn`t,then that is profiteering,or put another way a rip off, which is what all you low cost airline apologists seem intent on disproving.

It cannot be a " Rip Off " in the true sense if the terms are clear, which they are.

Now hurry along or you will miss your BA/Emirates flight.;)

That was my first post on this thread. Don't assume you know what my opinion is, it only weakens your own argument.
