This is a rip off.
If the air fare DECREASED, do you really think Easyjet will give money back???
Ermm, yes I think they well may do if you notice this has happened:

Erm, no I think they don't if you notice your link specifically says it does not apply to this situation.
"If your price promise request is in respect of a booking that has been subject to a "flight transfer" or "name change", easyJet will not refund below the value of the original fare paid in the initial booking. All transfer fees and name change fees are non-refundable."0 -

OK, I happily stand corrected in that the particular situation the OP finds themselves in would not be included in EJ's price promise (I wasn't sure of all the ins and outs which is why I said 'they may well do').

It might be a sad state of affairs, but that is why the charges for not being savvy bare no relation to the actual cost involved. For every £5 fare sold, you can bet your bottom dollar there are 3 pax. who made a small mistake and coughed up more than the actual cost of the flight. These airlines, car hire companies, credit card companies, etc love the tinternet, they don't have to accept responsibility for mistakes and hide things in the T&C's that are specifically there to catch people that don't spend 5 minutes thinking before hitting the "accept" button when they see a low price.Murphy_The_Cat wrote: »This is a lively subject, isn't it ?
What has surprised me in this thread is the suggestion that the people who are asking for adjustments/name changes etc etc are subsidising the airlines to the point that they are able to sell seats for £5.
If this is true, what a sad state of affairs it is when Joe Public is incapable of filling out a basic form accurately -- even more so, when he/she surely realises that any correction that needs to be made will cost them ££££££'
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

If it is the customer who makes the mistake, I can see no reason why suppliers of goods or service SHOULD accept responsibility for mistakes.
Surely a customer should have some accountability for their own actions - including mistakes that may prove costly?0
