    Obnoxious and patronising too.

If you could see further than your colon you'd probably be a little more objective about things and realise that Easy Jet charging £100 just to put a name right is a rip off. In fact its an out right con.
But then i would expect a small minded bitter individual like you to grasp that.

edit: Nor did the OP blame anyone else, in fact he accepted it was his fault and simply complaining about a charge he felt and many of us agree - was a rip off. Now, where have i heard a similar story - I bet you are one of the people that used to tell some one who went overdrawn that a £30 was justified and they shouldn't have gone overdrawn. How daft you must feel now.

I prostrate myself at the feet of the worlds greatest living comedian :rotfl::rotfl:

As long as Companies make charges clear and easily understood (& are legal), whats the beef ? You make an easily avoidable error and its going to cost you £x -- bish, bosh, be more careful (like the rest of the population) and you'll be quids in, enjoying very cheap flights like the rest if the folk who didn't make an ar*e of their booking form.;)

As for people going overdrawn and having to pay charges, I'm sure that there is a thread elsewhere on the site for people to contribute to.

Why can't posters like the OP write threads with titles like " be careful when you book flights" or "don't make the same mistake as me" or "double check the form before hitting enter", rather than the over dramatic, factually incorrect or misleading words "Rip Off"

  • From elsewhere in this forum "I've yet to open a thread containing the words 'rip off' which is appropriately titled."

Go read a few dictionaries, one of the meanings of rip-off is charging an excessive amount. Do you think charging £100 to correct a spelling mistake (which is obviously a mistake) which only takes few minutes at most to correct, a fair amount?

I assume by that response you are saying that had you made such a minor mistake and then been charged £100 to rectify it - you would simply think "oh well i should be more careful" Thankfully the country isn't full of weak members of society like yourself and people do challenge things and recognise that being charged £100 to change a name is a rip off.

It'd be interesting to see how many people who had took your stance would actually attempt to reclaim those charges if indeed they were found to be illegal (which im not saying they are)

One bit of advice completely off topic - Using phrases such as bish bosh to get a point across really does nothing for the already minimal credibility of your posts.

right so if a persons name on there passport is

    john paul ringo (for eg)

    you have booked

    paul ringo

    onto the flight

    should you have booked

    john ringo

just to ask my own question again, would putting the 1st and last name, but missing the middle name out not be charged for.

Never having misspelt my name on a booking form, or mucked up the dates, or filled in the wrong departure/arrival airport, I've never been on the other end of a £100 charge, so I've no experience of what its like, or how daft/annoyed it would make me feel. But comes the day that it happens AND IT IS MY FAULT, I'd pay the charge, put it down to experience and move on. I wouldn't come onto an Internet Forum and try and deflect the impact of MY MISTAKE onto someone else.

As for the number of people who would persue the charges, there are millions of chancers out there and lots of people who try to back them up, so I imagine that the takeup would be large. Its just a pity (for them) that they didn't put as much effort into doing the job right in the first place.

Thank you for your off topic advice. The term bish bosh is a term that gets used frequently in the real world and indicates a simple task, easily done.

May I offer you a piece of Off Topic advice as well ?
Posters usually have a few posts backwards and forwards before getting personal with the insults (if they are that way out with themselves)- getting unpleasant and personal in your first response doesn't usually help the thread flow

Likewise - Jumping on someones back and telling them they deserve a £100 charge - and on a money saving forum - makes you attract the response i gave you.

You've inaccurately quoted the OP, he said he got charged £20 each way to change the name.

In fact thats the T & C's of easyjet not a rip off.

In addition to a difference in the cost of the flight. He said £100.
