Can anyone confirm that Eon have increased the Energy Online 8 prices as of today, Sept 11th? I'm in the process of leaving Eon so I can't see the lates tarrifs... but a comparison site says they've gone up today..?Having fun trying to save money without going over the top and living on budget food all the time...0

Nope - mine hasn't changed0 -
I just had a call back from Eon in response to my email. Now I was half asleep (I really don't think they should call customers at 8:30am on a Saturday ) but they did confirmed that v8 prices have NOT gone up and the letter was referring to v5, as we thought.
Proud to be a MoneySaver!

Wow this is all so confusing !! I was on the v5 and last week changed to Energy online extra saver 8 plan after comparing them on uswitch.
My discounts are showed as :6.00% for DD
3.00% for dual fuel
4.30% online discount
The letter also states this has an extra 4.30% discount until at least 1 nov 2009.
which i take that as being the 4.30% online discount.
So does this mean that afetr nov 2009 this can be withdrawn thus becoming a 9% discount only?
I still dont know if i have done the right thing changing!!
though the gas is slightly more the electric was a lot less in comparing and we use the electric much more!

I am pretty sure when V8 is eventually increased the price on that tariff will be above V5 due to in my case lower discounts. I have just checked that prior to the V5 increase the V8 was £40 a yr dearer than V5-V5 is now £110 a yr dearer than V8-therefore each month that goes by without an increase in V8 I am £9pm worse off BUT once V8 is increased I may then be £3pm better off. There is therefore not much in it as to whether it will be worth switching as say it takes 2 mths before V8 increases I would be £18 worse off by staying on V5 BUT then possibly £3pm better off by staying on V5 i.e in positive credit after 6 mths.0

I've never seen a specific "online" discount quoted in any of my correspondance.
I am on extrasaveronline 5 and my letter quotes the dual fuel discount only.
Have I missed a trick? Do you need to "apply" for the online discount despite in addition to holding the "online" product?0 -
I believe the other discounts are for:
1. Direct debit payment.
2. Paperless online billing.
A telephone call will get you the information as to what is relevant to your locality/area.0 -
i would have thought that yours like mine would be the same with the online discount as quoted in the title of the plan you are on. I do know that you have to register online and then manage your account online to qualify for this extra online discount. If you have done this maybe you should check out if you are missing out on this extra online discount. Hope this helps.Happiness is not having what you want...but wanting what you have!!!0

Most peculiar - I have run my tariff through USwitch, Moneysupermarket and Energy Helpline and all three come up with different information. However, the strangest is that when I run the comparison with EnergyOnline Standing Charge 5 it results in a similar price to British Gas Click Energy 5 tariff - run the figures again using the new EnergyOnline Standing Charge 8 tariff that they have switched me on to and I now save between £40 and £200 switching to British Gas (so the supposedly cheaper tariff is costing me more?). No doubt there is an explanation with data not being up to date, but I am tempted to switch (and pick up £60 from Quidco en-route). The downside is, I suppose, that Eon's tariff won't be available to come back to.
