Good luck with the move purpleprincess

Elona - I'm sure they will be fine. Mine have been away in far flung places and I do understand the worry bit just relax and get that soup made! |I find the chopping and making of soup very relaxing and often make it when I have something on my mind. Just keep yourself busy to take your mind off things. Big ((((hugs))))

Been out for a pot of tea - yes, I know how to live it up - and have been to the library to pick up a vegetarian cookbook and also Nigella who is going to turn me into a domestic goddess. I love her quick cookbook which I got at Christmas.
First I am off to do a 27 fling boogie as instructed by flylady this morning. I'm getting back on board and can see a difference already.

    :o Me again.

I meant to ask. If I were to freeze a chilli, what sort of containers do the experts on here use? I have a multitude of the very plain and basic Lakeland containers which I love and use for storage of all sorts of bits and pieces, and I believe they are freezer safe, but I would be interested in any suggestions.

They should be fine, but what I do is put a freezer bag inside the box, fill it with whatever I want to freeze, tie the top & chuck it into the freezer and when it's solid, take off the box to be used again, and you have a block of chilli, without an orange-stained box :)

But don't forget to write on the bag BEFORE you fill it!

Squiggly hon, yes I did sleep much better thanks! I think we both got about 5 hours almost uninterrupted. He is sleeping again now which is good
redruby - Thanks for the good wishes
wannabe sybil - Evil cat reminds me of Treacle yet again. In the house she is the fiercest cat going.. if you walk too close to her you can guarantee a quick slash from her claws and if she sits all over your newspaper while you are reading it, she will happily try and bite you for daring to try and move her. Hoowever, put her outside and the slightest thing spooks her. She is much better now than she used to be, at one point I swear a butterfly landing too close would have her running for cover!
purpleprincess - congrats on new flat and boyfriend moving in too
celyn90 - Nice to meet another Red Dwarf fan!!

More hugs to anyone who needs them!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Floss2 - thank you - that sounds so useful, especially about the labelling.

Evil cat has just dribble on my hand. I was trying to ignore her but she just dribbled on my hand, in fact, I am so used to her being a complete nuisance that the first it came to my conscious attention was when a drop landed on my hand! I think her and Treacle may well have a common sense of purpose, Diva, but all cats are awkward.

Little bear is singing to himself in his playpen. I was trying to have a bit of a play with him but in the end he climbed on my lap and was nodding off while watching baby tv. I am hoping he naps.

    Hugs to all

I wish I had a window cleaner at all. Even if it wasn't the stuff that diet coke breaks were made of, I would settle for cleaner windows :o

Arrghh, it never rains but it pours here. First aid calls now. Why am I the only one that answered!?!? Nothing serious - but still a GP job (really tiny embedded object).

OH's solicitor has just got back to him and he's made me cross, which is rare, because normally I'm a calm person... OH is going to call him and chat to him about it. The phrase "over my dead body springs" to mind.

Dr Jeckyll has started asking for stuff, but he will have to wait. :)

Money saving diva - I love red dwarf, I wish they hadn't left it so badly at the end of the last series

floss2 - Sale Sharks  ;) My "boys" are the best - Leicester Tigers all the way! :D:D

wannabe sybil - if you put your ironing pile under mine, then it would be completely flat under the weight!!!

I've been into Peterborough this morning and got loads of stuff for the new school year. Although I theoretically get some stuff provided by the school, it's barely enough to last a week. Plus, it means that I get to choose the bright pink folders for my planning etc.

I was looking at sofas in John Lewis (sigh!) which are lovely. Our sofa was ancient when DH's parents donated it to him 7 years ago and now it's decidedly uncomfortable and falling to bits. We're saving up for a new one, but judging by the prices of the most squishy one in JL then it'll be another 7 years before we get a new one. I know that there are other sofa suppliers, but at least I vaguely know what I'm looking for in other shops now. :D

I got my bargainous meat yesterday, so tonight I'll make a chilli con carne which will use some of the mince up. I'll also be making a batch of spag bol at the same time for the freezer. My mum had the audacity last night to suggest that it might be an idea to cook some of the mince up into a bolognese sauce................. goodness me! What sort of person does she think I am?!!!!

Speaking of my mum, she was telling me about village life in my "home" village. Sounds like something out of a Jilly Cooper novel at the mo. ;) Not for my mum or dad you understand......

Anyway, I'd better go as this ironing pile doesn't seem to be going down!

Have a good day all

    Afternoon all,

Warm here today but light rain at times as well.

Going out tonight to a 'party to celebrate a wedding', bride is my first cousin's daughter, so am looking forward to it...hope to see lots of relatives I usually only see at funerals...this will be a much better meeting place!

Ireland has just won a silver medal for boxing in Olympics, hopefully gold to come as we have done worse than usual so far!

Hugs to all who are in need or want and congratulations to all who are celebrating.

Sybil...headwear has not been compulsory in Catholic churches apart from the Vatican for about 40 years and I don't think that a rosary worn as a decoration would cut any ice with the priest....Hester, enjoy and tell us all when you come back.

Chilli for dinner, OH will have steak as he is becoming very fussy about what he eats...was bad enough when he just wanted to eat at awkward times....twice a day, 10 am and 3-4 pm, but now not eating this and that is getting to me...I'm d**ned if I am going to cook 2 dinners so he can do things himself if he won't eat what we have!

Not sure why I am feeling so aggressive today, slept well, feel well and have lost 2 lbs this week....sorry for rants
