    Morning all

Bit dark and dismal here this morning but not raining (yet). Spent hours dodging the bees yesterday to start picking my lavander in, got 3 huge bushes here, already filled 12 large brown envelopes so the house smells lovely.

DH got paid from his old job today, only £900 short! We knew it would be short due to holidays/travel bonus etc but not quite that short......ah well....I just need to find a way of making £250 to break even....will all come good in the end I suppose.

Got DD's school shoes and slippers yesterday - £24.97 all in, not bad at all, neither of them need any new uniform at the moment which is great, got a school coat in the next sale for DD1 a few weeks back so they're all set to return in September.

Not sure what to do for dinner tonight, having a "can't be a*sed" week as far as food's concerned, might just be egg and chips, quick and easy. DH's parents are taking us out for lunch tomorrow so I won't need to worry about cooking - the pub we're going to does the biggest portions going so we shall feed ourselves up.

Hope you all have a fantastic day.

    Morning All

We have blue sky here at the moment so I've quickly put some washing on the line - don't know how long it will last though!

I've got a busy morning as I need to go and get a few bits from town, go to the tip check on my parents' house and go to the library before the boiler man comes this afternoon.

Main job for today is to try and sort DS's bedroom out before we have to move the bed so the boiler man can get behind it to put new pipework in on Monday. Not sure how that's going to work as he has a high bed in the box room and we can only move it forward about 1.5 feet so I hope that's enough room for him!

I need to make 2 blackberry and apple crumbles today as well - one for us and one for FIL whose birthday it is today.

Congratulations for anyone who got their GCSE results yesterday.

N9EAV - why don't I ever get any bargains like that?

Hardup Hester - are you a size 12/14? I've got a shift dress and jacket that I've only worn once and is now too small in a pastel colour - I could always send it to youif you like.

    Hope everyone is well

    Have a good day

I'm a bit erratic with my posting at the moment as I just don't seem to have time. I notice quite a few are MIA too - come back soon, please. :D

    Last day of w**k then I'm off for 11 days. :j :D :j :D :j :D :j :D :j (can you tell I'm pleased)

Busy day ahead though as once I've finished w**k - whenever that may be as my boss acts as though I'm actually leaving and never coming back so he gets as much done as he can before I go:rolleyes: - I have to go to the bank and pay in my salary then do a little bit of shopping then I would like to get to the gym but have to be in and out quickly because DS and DD aren't allowed in after 5.00 pm on certain days and today is one of them. So, lots to do and not a lot of time to do it in.

WM and BM will need to go on later. Storecupboard challenge has gone well this week and I now have a few spaces in my freezer so I can think about some batch cooking. DS and DD have been with their Dad this week so I've saved quite a bit as DS has hollow legs at the moment.

Must go and dry my hair or I will look  . :j :j to those who got the exam results they wanted/needed and (((hugs))) to those who didn't. (((Hugs))) too to those who need one.

    Have a fabulous Friday. xx

  • Morning all,

why is it that even though I got home late (for me! 11.30) I am still wide awake early...?!

Sorry I missed Miss Penguin on the congratulations yesterday...not intentional at all!!

N9eav, have you built an Ark yet...????
SOMO1, I'm sure you will love college once you start :)
Hester, oh dear, sounds like a very interesting family..... will you be forcibly ejected by bouncers if you wear the wrong colours?!?!?

PinkWinged - I lurve laptops :) I've found that with my toshiba ones I've had problems with the power cables keep stopping working after a while, this HP one I've got is lovely & neat, small & light, but seems to overheat & shut itself down, not all the time, but often enough to be really annoying. My Compaq laptop was the best so far I think, but the one I had was quite big, even for a laptop. I do wonder if next time it's worth just buying one of the cheapies as they don't last as long as desktops (or so I have found....).
Don't know if that's any help to you, lol!!

Edit: MSDiva, glad to hear OH had a better night (which obviously means you did too, lol!!!) Sometimes you just have to bully 'em into it!!!!
Pooky - OUCH!!!!! That's an awful lot to be short.....
JulieJim, apple & blackberry, yummy...... I need to find somewhere round here with blackberry bushes so I can go & pick some.
AnnieBL, hope your day isn't too manic - lovely to look forward to some time off as a reward though :)

Today youngest DD WILL be tidying the smelly pit otherwise known as her room. I want to order 3 Ikea wardrobes (one for her, 2 for me) but for some bizarre reason the delivery charge is showing as £80 when it should be £35....

The kitchen needs tidying as everyone is ignoring the ever-growing pile of washing up (why?? we have a DW?!?) and I may try to sort through some of my crafting stuff in my cabin :).
As for dinner, I think chicken stir-fry but will see what's lurking in the cupboards..

(((((((hugs)))))))))) for all those needing/wanting them. Have a good day all.

    Good Morning All

Pink - Im the opposite to Squiggly - I've always had Toshiba and never had a problem, DD has a Dell one and the bonus to that is it is built exactly to your requirements.

Hope people collecting their results got what they needed/wanted.
N9eav - we have rain here today at the moment. Hope it drys as would like to do some more washing and OH wants to sort out the garden for the party tomorrow - so have everything crossed at the moment.

Had a productive day yesterday, borrowed my sisters hand held steam cleaner and cleaned the kitchen blinds, hob, oven and all the tiles with it. Was very impressed really made the kitchen smell better. So impressed that I have ordered myself one, though quidco and had cash back on my littlewoods account so wasnt too bad.

Little bit of everything today, need to pop to Asda to get the remaining food for tomorrow.

Played with my kenwood slicer yesterday - bit fiddly but hope to get the hang of it.

    Best get on.

Good Morning everyone (people i know and people i dont)
    Long time no chat!!!

Thought id pop on and see how you all are. Hope you are all great?? And huge hugs if not ((()))

Life has been very busy of late for me, lots of things happening good and bad, but im keeping my chin up and getting on with it, We had a family reuninion last week involving my DH side of the family and it sort of started world war 3!!! So still picking the pieces up from that and know it will get worst before it gets better!!!

Im enjoying the school hoildays for a change! All 4 kids being great, the boys are out alot playing down the park with their friends, DD is the most demanding but has been having plenty of trips out with her nana and at the moment she is ill, seems to be a bug going round here DH just had 2 days off work with it and know DD has it.!

I need to get back organised housework wise, i always let things slip when the kids are off, but they are back in 3 weeks and i need to get back on the bandwagon, so im here for you inspiration!!

Plans for today (inbetween clearing up after dd!!) 3 loads of washing to be done, first one is in, deep clean the kitchen, prepare a spag bog for tea, and ebay at least 5 more items.!!

Right im off for now but i promise to pop in more often!

    Morning everyone

The sun is out here at the moment, hope it stays around.

    Congrats on the exam results.

Went to Aldi yesterday and their packs of 7 baby bodysuits were reduced from £4.49 to £1.99, a pack accidently fell in my trolley:D

Really looking forward to seeing my DGD as I can see from photos how much she has changed, well she was only a week old when I saw her! Looking forward to seeing everyone else too, oh and the sea:D:D

I must get cracking as have washing to hang out, need a trip to the library, ironing to do, cakes to make (to take with us), rolls to make (for the journey) and need to sort out clothes etc to take. We usually leave early but we have OH's DD here tonight, so won't be leaving till after she has gone home, probably some time in the afternoon.

    Morning all,

Its raining again and so dark that I am having to put the lights on, it has rained every day of my holiday so far, which is not great, will have to brave the rain later and get little dog out for a run, she had to make do with a quick trip over the park yesterday and she was hyper all night  .

We went out to a beautiful country pub for lunch yesterday, the food was fantastic, I had a brie and bacon bagette, with chips :D , dd had macarroni cheese with garlic bread, there were six of us and the bill was £48 which I thought was good. The pub is right in the middle of the rolling fields, and we came back the pretty way, past the most beautiful houses, I kept stoping at each one and dreaming that I lived in them, [strike]with Jonny Depp[/strike] with OH and dd :D .

Not sure what we are up to today, but would have liked to get in the garden, might just be stay in out of the rain with a dvd, we shall see.

Pixielust, sorry to hear about DH uncle, and good luck with having him home for three weeks :D

Pink I have an Advent laptop which I got reduced to half price at Currys online :money: its fab, and has not let me down so far, OH has a packard bell, and has had a few problems with it  , I suppose its luck of the draw.

Diva, glad you and OH had a good night x

Pooky, hope you can manage x

Just had boiled eggs and soldiers :D yum, better get on now, sky looks to be brightening up a bit.

    Have good days all xx
