Elona - I am sure that your daughter will be fine. It is not a place unaccustomed to such things and it sounds like they are very sensible. Please let us know how they go on.
PurplePrincess - congratulations on your new home. I hope it is just what you want. If you are still online, one thing I would always emphasise - Don't forget to keep loo roll at the top of the cases. You can drink water out of a tap and buy takeaways to eat with your fingers, but you can not manage without loo roll
I am very impressed by those with the laptops. I just can't seem to get the hang of the dratted things, although dear heart uses one a lot. It was quite a cosy scene last night. I was knitting and dear heart was tootling on the laptop while stretched out on the sofa. Evil cat was sitting on top of the sofa and glaring at me because I wouldn't let her eat the wool.
It is sunny here, and I'm not quite sure how to go on after all the rain. I unfortunately left the sunscreen for little bear at my uncle's several weeks ago and with one thing and another it hasn't been missed. I may take him out for just a little play in the garden as I am sure he will survive fifteen minutes of sun. Of course he will be hurtling at speed towards any toxic plants, steps, nettles, spikes, nails etc but that is normal for a little bear.
Probably chilli tonight with home made potato wedges. Last night dear heart asked for a takeaway, because I don't have the courage to make a curry hot enough for him. I didn't stop him , and I had part of a very unsatisfactory pizza while little bear had a small tin of beans and sausage.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Me again.
I meant to ask. If I were to freeze a chilli, what sort of containers do the experts on here use? I have a multitude of the very plain and basic Lakeland containers which I love and use for storage of all sorts of bits and pieces, and I believe they are freezer safe, but I would be interested in any suggestions.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
OMG i'm exhausted now.I've cut the garden, which is massive and was about 2 foot long:eek: got rid of all the nettles and trimmed my bushes, so the postman can get in[STRIKE]no rude jokes please[/STRIKE] :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I also found a few blackberry bushes poking through from next door on both sides, so i'll be picking them later;)
I have also swept my yard at the side, which was made as a dog pen originally but they wont go in it:mad:  It's the size of an ordinary terraced house yard, so i've bought a lovely greek looking mosaic table n chair set, and a bench for next year, when hopefully i'll be out there with the baby

Time for a shower, and the WM is going on:D

Hi all - just got back from shopping and various other errands and have read the thread too fast to be able to absorb most of it so (((hugs))) to all who need them. I'll try and read it properly later.
I've just dumped the shopping on the kitchen worktop and sat down with a cup of coffee before the dreaded job of putting it away.
Well, it hasn't rained today and I have loads of washing on the line so I hope it stays dry and also that everyone else is getting some fairly decent weather. I don't think we can expect anything that resembles summer now but if it just stops raining for more than a day at a time I think we'd be grateful. I think it's been a rotten summer holiday for all the children off school - the worst I can remember.
Well, better put the shopping away.
See you all later.

First, before I forget, congrats to Miss Penguin, and sorry I missed her yesterday. And anyone else I missed on the GCSE results, congrats!
I am still very tired from yesterday but I made myself go out and do the shopping so I can relax now for the rest of the day.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend with sunshine (I can hope!) and ((((hugs)))) to those that want or need them.
Off to update my sig for GC and weight loss. Take care everyone

Well it did rain - nice now though.
And the window cleaner just came - omg he is gorgeous! I'm ot usually here when he comes!!!! He certainly brightens the day!
I have put banana skins under my tomato plants as I have been told they will ripen quicker - seems to be working, or they could just have decided on their own. Had a lovely greek salad for lunch using them!
Going to go mop the kitchen floor now. Oh joy!
