ASDA Mobile PAYG 8p/min and 4p/text

I decided ASDA payg seemed a good deal for me so I decided to go over from Voda payg. I believe they run on the same network so I decided to keep my number and go over. As far as I can tell ASDA is about half the price after Vodas price rise next week. I spoke to a real person on the ASDA help desk who talked me through the change over, it has been smooth and effortless up to now. I dont know if I am missing something but it seems a good service at a competative price, has anyone had any good or bad experiences to share with any other forum members about ASDA mobile?

I bought 2 Asda sim card packs for my wife & myself last september. She wanted to keep her old number (Vodafone network) & the change over was hassle free too.

Only negative thing i found was that, upon registering, the call cost was\is 25P but they say they will add £1 of calling credit after 28 days. 8 months later we are both still waiting for the £1 to be credited to both of our phones. We popped into our local Asda store last week to top both mobiles up and they had top up cards for every network........except the Asda mobile network!
Total debt 27-11-10 £0! No credit cards & no loans.:j

I thought pretty much all topups were now done electronically, but I assume you were trying to buy the old-style "scratch 'n' sniff" cards.

Probably best to get swipe cards so you don't have to worry about them running out of the manual scratch cards. I wouldn't be surprised if the scratch cards are phased out soon (if they haven't started doing so already). ;)

Asda Payg have never offered old fashioned scratch top up cards for their service.

All you have to do is hand over your ASDA mobile swipe card (pick one up at the check-out) and the amount of credit you ask for will be added to your ASDA mobile automatically. Top-up in an ASDA store and you will receive an extra 10% airtime absolutely FREE.

I'd have thought you should have received swipe cards when you originally bought the simcards - I think most others networks include them with their simcard packs, so all you need to do is link the card to your phone and it's ready to use.

Yes, you would have thought that swipe cards would be included in the sim pack.

It is possible to top up once a credit card has been registered & i tried to top up that way yesterday, but i kept on getting a recorded massage saying that they were very busy and try calling later.

My local Adsa is in the process of moving to a new site so maybe thats why they had no swipe cards when i called in. Will try again tomorrow. :)

I picked up a leaflet in Asda for their mobile phone top-up card. As I am on PAYG with Vodaphone and dont really use my mobile much,I thought the Asda deal on calls and texts looked ok for my needs.
I tried to call the number given -2732- on the leaflet but it does not seem to be a valid number.
Has anyone used the Asda mobile top-up before, and if so can they give me the correct contact number for the Asda phone.

Thanks in advance for any help

That number will probably only be from an asda mobile phone.
