How to cancel Setanta Sports

What would happen to Setanta on BT Vision? Would BT replace it with something else?

dont sign up what ever you do, going bust or not.
any money that you pay if they go under is used to pay off their debts
and you cant get it back.
i think it would be safer to cancel direct debits and see what happens first.
should they be saved [ hope not ] you can reset the dd again and you will still be able to watch for some time [ mine was 6 months ] before they
start asking for bank details.

setanta have recorded message for people wishing to
subscribe, they are not taking any any new subscribers
till further notice.
the bad ship setanta has hit a icrburge, get cancelling those DD just incase.

I signed up to Setanta using my credit card. I then set up a direct debit with my bank to pay off my Setanta bill on my credit card.

Do I just phone up the bank and cancel my direct debit or do I have to do another procedure?

you can cacel online if do online banking, if not get to the bank now.
better safe than sorry.
you say you have cancelled the card and set up direct debit, are you sure
the card is cancelled. i would not put it past those crooks to draw on both
methods.
you would not be the first ive read having to seperate withdrawls by these
con merchants.

Bt Vision has released a statement on their website saying they are aware of the reports about Setanta Sports in the press and are monitoring the situation.
What would happen if Setanta did go bust, would BT pick up the football rights?

The football rights are not Setantas' to sell on, its up to the rights holder who they sell them on to.

Just a quick question - i pay my setanta subscription by debit card. I've just checked the bank and nothing has been taken from my account since 1st may. Any idea if they have decided not to take any more recurring payments or am i just been over-optimistic???

I have just posted exactly the same thing in the other thread. Setanta always take payments on the 7th of every month, apart from when it falls on a weekend, then they will take on the Monday after the 7th.

Checked my internet banking and nothing has been taken..... Hmmmm.

according to STV setanta will be off air by midnight.
