Your name, address, customer number. If you do not have the customer number I think your skycard number will also do (but willing to be wrong with that) also give them the date you expect them to cancel the account0 -
Request a read receipt as well when you send the email.0

Get stuffed setanta. Bring back Prem Plus.
I had the same problems with these idiots, couldn't cancel for 3 months, rubbish picture quality, and rubbish customer service.
Least with Prem Plus you could buy just one event that you wanted to watch and not have to pay month by month to watch teams you didn't support, or second rate boxing, or the england away games, or any other sport that the FANTASTIC, AWSOME, GREAT PICTURE QUALITY, HD,GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, SKY didn't want to buy the rights to.
Sorry for the rant but if you hadn't guessed i love sky and hate setanta.:A :rotfl:0 -

I agree & at £50 for around 40 games it represented good value. Also you could buy games on a 1 match basis if you couldn't afford the full package. With none of that connection fee or 30/ 60 day minimum contract or post us a letter that we might not get if you want to cancel nonsense.
But blame the FA & in particular Brian Barwick. They felt that Sky had too much of a monopoly on the football so they wanted to carve up the tv rights into smaller packages to give tv footy fans a fairer deal. So what did they do..?
Instead of giving a share of the packages to terrestrial tv companies, such as the BBC, Channel 5, ITV or Channel 4, they sold the games to Setanta in the knowledge that they would get a share afterwards of the pay-per- view revenue.
The FA it must be said, in their own self-interest, has betrayed the ordinary tv footy fan.0 -

The FA it must be said, in their own self-interest, has betrayed the ordinary tv footy fan.
The FA get the blame for almost everything that is wrong in football, but on this occasion (as with many others) they have no responsibility.
It's important to recognise that the FA and The Premier League are two different entities. The Premier League sells its own rights...the FA sells theirs (Cup and England).
The FA sold the FA Cup and to Setanta AND ITV, and the rights to all competitive home games also went to ITV, ensuring terrestrial coverage of its key games.
The Premier League has no such scruples so, when ordered by the EU to split up the coverage of their games so 1 company did not have 100% rights, they sold to the highest bidder - Setanta.
The FA has responsibility for development of the game throughout the whole of the country, from PL to Youth to Ladies to Disabled. It does its best, but under difficult circumstances having been dwarfed by the The PL, the Frankenstein's Monster it helped to create that is now out of control. The PL, of course, only has the aim of enriching the PL.
But that's a digression. The point is that Setanta having PL games is NOTHING to do with the FA and Brian Barwick0 -
They were a bit quicker with me....Tuesday 16th sent...reply on Friday 19th

Hi all, My husband and two sons were keen to watch more matches I think over a year ago, and my husband sorted it out over the phone. I had been reading all the comments on the site regarding this company and about how hard it is to cancel with them. I am just looking over our bank statement with certain d.d and lo and behold I see that Setanta have been taking out£9.99 a month and the last two months are £12.99 I am waiting on my husband coming home from work to ask him about this. Thanks Martin for the help here, as after reading all the stuff about Setanta if my husband decides he is going to cancel then we will need the help of the info on here. Thanks everyone.Do a little kindness every day.;)0

ok the quote from the first post goes like this...."You can now email your cancellation request to requests@setanta.com. The cancellation will take effect 30 days from the next billing date."but what is the billing date? is it the date that the payment comes out my account every month? or is it 2 weeks prior to the date the payment comes out my account - i.e. when Setanta create the bill?Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0
