A bit on Working Luch page of BBC, not much useful info as usual.

I only heard about the systems being in Madrid when I called the call centre this morning, when I was told I said "no they're not" on the basis that I didn't expect them to have been moved and I was told "well I can assure you they are". After this is I queried their DR site and was told this used to be near the M69 but not anymore.
That's all I have.0 -
Cahoot provded an excellent service up until the day it was bought over by Santander. Since then I've had problems with regular monthly transfers in from a European bank - no information, and charges being applied with no explanation and no notice. The call centres don't know anything about foreign transfers or CHAPS, but they won't let you speak directly to the departments. So you have these stupid 3 way dialogues with long time delays while the call centre email the appropriate dept and then come back by email with the answer. I have loved cahoot and got all my family to use them, but now I'm not sure... Perhaps we need to return to the old-fashioned branch system - at least that way we could walk in and shout at them face to face!0

An update from the Working Lunch website:
"UPDATE: Cahoot says its website will be up and running shortly, but some transactions made after 0730 yesterday morning may not appear on online statements for another 24 hours. The transactions have been made, they're just not visible on your statement. We're still waiting for the definitive word on direct debits."
Here's hoping.0 -
My heating oil delivery payment is due today 1pm - surcharge if it's late.
Fuel company tried but unable to get debit card authorisation since Monday, despite sufficient funds. Debit card on second cahoot a/c tried today but also won't work, their getting message "invalid amount".
Phoned cahoot 9am - they suggested trying in 3 hours - times now up!
Will pay by credit card at 1pm, Cahoot rep said they would refund surcharge (2.5%)
Most annoying thing is I opened an egg savings fixed 6.3% rate for 1 year a/c a week ago and have been trying unsuccessfully since to transfer money from cahoot by debit card.
If "statement was issued to the media at 1.30pm yesterday" by Cahoot it seems strange that Googling only returns this forum!
Abbey site & e-banking (demo) looks fine so where is their system?0 -
There is nothing on Google News about this issue whatsoever, something I am astonished about.0

Sorry but I have banked with cahoot happily for many years, but what sort of organisation just switches off its website!
I have given up caring if there is a power problem - we are talking about one of the largest financial institutions in the world! Surely it has plan B,C,D,& E for when situations like this happen.
24 hours at least without any sort of notification. Its just not good enough (especially not with the banking sector as it is right now) ...
I have just called their call centre and I am wholly understanding that their staff have a 'line' which they have to follow.
The management at cahoot need a kick up the ****, support your front line staff by providing them with some accurate information to enable them to pass on reassuring words to your customers together with an accurate time-scale of repair.0 -
Cahoot is being left to die by Abbey. They don't care about the brand; they're no longer marketing it and not supporting it with any technology upgrades (i.e. Faster Payments).
In fact, the whole thing feels like it's being run off a laptop in the corner of an Abbey building somewhere. Luckily it's not my main current account; I opened it as a "cash" account to avoid exposing my main current account to card cloning etc, but I recently tried to open a savings account with them - and that just hasn't happened. The online application went into the abyss; and then a call centre operator tried to do it manually and then said I would receive the forms to sign within 7 days. 12 days later a covering letter arrives and no forms.0 -
I've just phoned Cahoot and they say the problem is due to a massive power cut yesterday. They expect to have the service back this afternoon.0

I'm afraid I was told that yesterday morning, then again in the afternoon and once again this morning!?!?
Forgive me but I don't feel the information the call centre staff are giving out is entirely accurate - I would love to see it back this afternoon but right now I am more than a little concerned about the Kaupthing money due into my account by tomorrow - looks like I may be waiting longer than I had wanted!!!0
