  • Just talked to someone at cahoot. He said they had a power failure yesterday and the systems should be back sometime this afternoon. As for debit card transactions, he said some appear to be going through and others aren't. Very strange. Anyway, it sounds like it's just technical problems rather than something more worrying.

They never mentioned power problems yesterday.

Is it just me who is suspicious of them ?

Surely they would have known straight away if it was a power problem ? - Does it take over 28 hours to see that is the problem ??

Yesterday I tried to check my balance at an ATM and was unable to do so but still managed to get cash out out though.

So.........Madrid has power failures lasting for more than 24 hours? They gave me this nonsense too and assured me that the bank was safe (before I even asked the question!).

There's something serious going on here, and the staff clearly don't know what it is either.
  • After a long time trying to get through on the phone and two useless Advisers, I managed to eventually speak to someone who said she was the Cahoot Call Centre Manager.

They say problem due to a power failure in Madrid at 0730 yesterday.
They cannot access the information either.
They cannot do any money movements over the phone
They do not know when it might be back 'hopefully this afternoon'

Yes, 'you cannot access yor money' but 'it's safe!'

I found out, 02476627190 is their number if you don't want to use the 0870 one!!
  • I do not have time at the moment. Anyone tried to see if Santader in Spain has problems? We cannot assume the Spanish play the same sort of tricks when a Bank has problems!

    Thanks for your time.
  • Santander do not have problems. Calm down.

bancosantander.es looks fine in as much as it displays the log-in page no problem. Power failure in Madrid my !!!!.
  • Have emailed some ppl in Spain to see about this power outage???

When I spoke to the call centre here they said they used to have a DR site near the M69??? but all their systems have now moved to Madird!!!

Lack of info and lack of DR is very poor, I've been with cahoot for about 10 years and this is the 1st time something as bad as this has happened.
