Cahoot log in problem....

Cahoot is being left to die by Abbey. They don't care about the brand; they're no longer marketing it and not supporting it with any technology upgrades (i.e. Faster Payments).
In fact, the whole thing feels like it's being run off a laptop in the corner of an Abbey building somewhere. Luckily it's not my main current account; I opened it as a "cash" account to avoid exposing my main current account to card cloning etc, but I recently tried to open a savings account with them - and that just hasn't happened. The online application went into the abyss; and then a call centre operator tried to do it manually and then said I would receive the forms to sign within 7 days. 12 days later a covering letter arrives and no forms.
On 1 Oct I discovered that the security one of my cahoot currents had been compromised. I asked for advice and was told to close down the account and open a new one. I applied online for this to be done. 5 days, 2 emails, and 2 calls from me later they still had not closed the a/c nor blocked any withdrawals/new direct debit instructions. I was told that a form I had to sign to open a new account would be in the post. It hadn't arrived a week later, so after another call I was told that they'd reissue one. That was over a week ago, and I'm still waiting. My husband and I have 7 different accounts with them...but not for much longer. Call this service?0 -

The security of the Cahoot online banking website is a joke - i'd never use it in public. Firstly, selecting the requested characters from your password is done using a drop-down box - in FULL VIEW of anyone who might be looking over your shoulder.
Worse still, when you click "Log out"; you are not actually logged out; it goes to a second page asking you if you really want to log out! With people so accustomed to just clicking "Log out" and walking away; to have this secondary confirmation is just asking for people to walk away from public computers whilst still fully logged in to Cahoot!0 -
I am having the same problem with Cahoot.
I am wondering if Cahoot will be as generous and up front as ICICI. I put in a dated transfer request into ICICI which was done 2 days late, but, without asking, I got an email apologising and saying that they would put £50 into my account as a goodwill gesture, which they have done.
Now that’s what I call service.

It's actually designed to prevent keyboard loggers which are probably more of a problem in e.g. an Internet cafe than someone looking over your shoulder. Not that I'd recommend accessing you bank account in an internet cafe though :eek:

At least the power cut is real, even if it exposes some pretty shoddy backup systems.
hmh, assuming the timings are correct, a power cut yesterday at 1.15pm Madrid time (12.15 UK) wouldn't explain why people can't log into their accounts at 10:58 yesterday.
Think we are not being told the truth.
Today's Working Lunch had it that Cahoot told them they hope to have their website running again "within the next 24 hours". Bit odd Cahoot didn't tell the BBC anything about a powercut, doncha think?
All very weird. Think I might close my Cahoot accounts - not because I am concerned about their stability as a bank, but because this is an IT (and customer relations) disaster.0 -

Secondly, as you log out it advises you to check your activity summary before you go. This is to guard against possible man in the middle attacks which might try to sneak extra transactions in (e.g. transferring funds to their account) whilst you're legitimately logged in. I always check the activity summary for this reason.
Finally, what are you doing even contemplating the access of any important information on a public computer?! Never, ever do this. You have no idea what software might be installed on that machine, hidden cameras in the ceiling etc. Would you use an ATM onto which anyone could install whatever software they wanted to?0
