  • Ditto - now able to use the system normally. Hope everyone else can do so OK now.

They better issue a pretty good post mortem on this including steps they've taken to ensure no repeat - otherwise it's adios amigo.
  • Worked OK for me too at last. Logged in fine - transferred some money from current to savings. Showed instantly as usual. All balances normal.

I won't be ditching all my accounts first thing tomorrow though. At the end of the day, Cahoot are backed by Santander, which although not bullet proof is still a pretty big guarantee - things would surely have to get a whole lot worse before they were financially in trouble. The last thing I want to do is jump out of the frying pan into the fire to another bank which is just as likely, or more, to have trouble. I would rather have a two day outage than a two month wait to get my cash back from a government guarantee.

At the end of the day, for me yes it was a pain in the nuts, and yes I shouldnt have to rely on the MSE forums to get my info, but I have been with them for 6 or 7 years now, largely without hassle. I will take my time and consider some of the other options over the next few day/weeks.

Hope everyone else gets in soon - just tried again and it was fine again, so I reckon it should be business as usual in the morning.

That's a very calm way to look at it, I was so angry earlier I'd have moved in an instant - particularly on top of another irritating call I had with another organisation asking me to send them a bank statement or cheque from Cahoot to 'prove' I'm not a drug dealing money launderer! are we not supposed to be in the internet/paperless age????

Like what & how? it's exactly the same for me.
  • What a relief! And my login process is exactly the same as before. But I'm pretty unimpressed by the unapologetic 'apology' in a system message. No regret, no recognition of hardship or anxiety, just 'We apologise that cahoot.com was unavailable yesterday and today (Weds 15 & Thurs 16 Oct)', as if it had been routine upgrade overnight downtime. Hummppphhh. I'm going to think long and hard about whether I stay with these people.

I noticed payments were credited a day late! I had sent 12K on Monday which should have arrived on Wednesday but was credited on the 16th. Another payment made on the 15th did not arrive to-day.

(BACS payments ALWAYS take 3 working days incl. the day funds are sent.)

    I am not amused.

No mention of compensation for late payment fees either.

Has anybody any idea how you can quantify a late payment on your credit files?
