  • Stingyscot. cahoot don't promise 100% availability on line...and it is unreasonable to expect it. I think we (cahoot customers) have all been in the same boat in terms of access difficulties. And I don't agree with their message management.

My initial post doesn't refer to that. The point I'm making is that it's not Northern Rock or any other bank where our money is at risk (Santander has just been made the safe haven for B&B savers). There will always be systems problems where there are systems.

The trouble with sites like this is that they become a focal point for whinging (it's the business their in). All I'm suggesting is that we get a bit of perspective and remember that cahoot's probably as perfect as we wanted to afford it to be. And probably just as perfect as us.

The power outage message has gone from their site now and the login screen appears --- but it takes a long time to load. Probably too many people trying to access at once.

Newbie with nothing constructive to say. Troll alert.
  • I still can't get logged onto the site, but I called at a cashpoint just to see what would happen, and using my debit card at a Nat West ATM allowed me to withdraw £40 from my account, but no balance values on the advice slip. This means that the bank is still transactionally functional, just not through the website. They need to get it back before midnight or there'll be a mass defection.

quite and you have eloquently portrayed your perspective, and I personally thankyou for sharing your insight.

may I enquire if you have had the time to read the complete thread?

OK, not 100% - but 99.98% is emminently achievable, and very reasonable to expect for an Internet bank.
Santander has just been made the safe haven for B&B savers
That is, with respect, no guarantee whatsover that Santander couldn't go down the drains as well.

You seem to deliberately want to miss the points some people make, e.g. about having to put effort into re-establishing their once perfect credit ratings, as a result of a shoddy service by Cahoot.

Did I dream it, or wasn't the first message on the site when it became unaccessable something about it would be down for a little while because they were doing a technical update ? Did they manage to 'improve' it so it crashed ?
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
  • I logged in... I got to my home page... then I tried to transfer funds out and ... Error - This page cannot be displayed...

Can't get to the login page now. Will keep on trying as I need to transfer money today for my holiday next week or I'm going abroad pennyless! Thanks cahoot.
  • Well Innovate if you take the 7 days rather than my inflated 30 the availability would be 99.76%. So I won't haggle with you over the .0022.

    Couple of questions:
Incidentally my original post seems to have disappeared. Is there a systems problem?

    What's a "troll"?

Just managed to successfully connect with the telephone banking service - got balance, mini statement and paid a bill - quite quick too. Website still slow, but I bet it's taking a right pounding.
What they do and say over the next couple of days will decide whether I jump ship or not... It's interesting to read on Wikipedia that Santander don't spend much marketing on Cahoot anymore, and that they withdrew the Credit Card and loans due to bad debt which is hitting profits... perhaps they have been cheaping out on backup power supplies to!
