I am pretty certain I tried to log in late on Tuesday (after 11pm) and the site was down then, in fact I know it was. I am waiting for money from my Kaupthing Edge account and I checked before I went to bed.
First Direct here I come.:j0 -
I've had an account for 3 years and never experienced this before. If it was down for maintenance I will expect an email to be sitting in my Cahoot inbox when it comes back online giving me advance warning of the outage.
As for power cuts happening very frequently in Spain - they've never affected the service before, so why now ?.....................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

i got a new debit card yesterday morning and I can't get online to activate it! I can't fill my car up, I've got no food, all my direct debits have probably bounced, and I have literally got no money! this is driving me mad. I know a guy who works in IT for santander and he got called to an urgent meeting in madrid on tuesday morning, so I suspect they knew something was up even before the website went down yesterday morning.0

Customers would be able to claim back any money lost through charges as a result of the delay.
So they will still charge YOU for their error and incompetance....then YOU have to go to the trouble of claiming back?
Can we charge them for the time and trouble caused?
I say, charge them and if they don't pay up then they can f**k off, and I'll take my business elsewhere."Unhappiness is not knowing what we want, and killing ourselves to get it."Post Count: 4,111 Thanked 3,111 Times in 1,111 Posts (Actual figures as they once were))Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.0 -
I have two more DD payments to go tomorrow, then nothing for a week or so (thank goodness). The silence is now becoming deafening from Cahoot. I can feel customers haemorraging away as we type. A new update message is urgently required to reassure customers about their money. It's not about their money being safe any more, it's about people's inability to run their financial affairs properly. If the ATM fails to give me cash tonight i'll be up !!!! creek for the weekend.0

Yep, well I've got money in Icesave, so 2 days pails in comparison to the probable 6 month wait I have before I can access my money!0 -

I agree completely. They should try reassuring people by providing an honest and realistic explanation and estimated fix time.
The way it's going so far it wouldn't be surprising if there's a run on the bank, not due to doubts about finance but doubts about competence.0 -
Well I am a little more concerned than I was this morning,it is indeed a very long time to be denied access to accounts during a working week.
several months ago I trimmed all my accounts down and terminated the dormant ones. Subsequently I have spread across current accounts in much the same way as savings, but I have to say that I perceived Cahoot to have accounts I did not need to be unduly concerned about. I am beginning to class them in with the others though. It is going to take some time to breed the arrogance out of these institutions.
Yeah we didn't think the plebs needed to worry their pretty little heads about us moving to spain, its just unfortunate the guy with the holdall has been delayed in paris(personal matter) but we are sure he will turn up soon, he is a very professional banker you know!, and we think explaining things to the punters just makes them confused, and they will ask stupid questions like which type of holdall was he using!!
We need to train these bankers...... now where did I put those worming tablets???
cos I cant keep moving money about, I will just have to see who wins the mutt show on the day.0 -
This is now on the website
sorry, cahoot is unavailable
Dear Customer
We apologise that cahoot.com was unavailable yesterday and today (Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16th October).
The site will shortly be up and running and you will be able to see any transactions you made up until 7.30am yesterday (Wednesday 15 October). Any transactions on your account made after that time will have been actioned but may not display yet so please don’t worry. These should be updated over the next 24 hours. Any payments set up to go yesterday or today should be processed as usual.
Once the site is back online and you access your account today, you will be able to use your account as normal. However, transactions may not display instantly but they will be updated over the next 24 hours. Please bear with us as we bring the website back up and running. We are working as quickly as possible to do this.
Once again, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
