ugh - its making me go shivery just reading about them! i am really worried about moving into my own house next month as i dont know what I would do if there was a spider (apart from scream and run away!!)

few years back we had taken the carpet up in my room. I saw a spider run under my bed and then spent the next hours or so selotaping up anything that slightly resembled a hole in the floorboards!! Makes me laugh thinking about it but i wouldnt have slept otherwise!!:rotfl:

My skin is crawling! I cannot stand spiders, something about the way they move that makes me feel sick inside, I once went under the sink to get washing powder, tilted my head to check I wasn't going to bang it and there was a row of 11 baby spiders hanging upside down! I just legged it, sat upstairs for 3 hours until OH came home and saved me. Also had a panic attack at yoga (yes, I know, ironic!) when one crawled across my hand-eek!
Scar tissue that I wish you saw, sarcastic mister know it all, close your eyes and I'll kiss you cause with the birds I'll share this lonely view.

Another arachnophobic here, we get spiders so big in our house I swear they have eyebrows. We get the field spiders which freak me out, they're huge!

I'm afraid I stash cans of red "Raid" everywhere, I need to know they're dead and even then I need hubby to remove them!

Our cat's rubbish with them, the ones she can be bothered to catch she spits out again or chews them with the legs sticking out of her mouth (eeeeeeeeee!)

Oh god is it true we'll have a bad spider year this year? I'll need therapy!

I can't help wondering what the difference is between the budget version and the "deluxe," since they both claim to do the same thing, ie, clear the house of spiders. I'm not trying to be cynical, just wondered....

A thread after my own heart here. I too get completely ginormous spiders and here's what I've learned:

The wee spindly ones are actually toxic to the big Mecanno ones (that look tiny up in the corner until you go near them and they UNFOLD in front of your eyes EEEEEK) so if you can stomach them it'll keep the giants at bay.

Conkers do work too. If nothing else it keeps them off the floor (which is my hugest hate). I do have sonic things but hadn't used them because I had dwarf hamsters (both dead now) and this thread's reminded me so I'll look them out.

Just so you know, a pint tumbler doesn't house spiders here, I need a small Pirex dish to catch them, they're that big.

    Hello again,

I have just seen the biggest spider ever in my kitchen and had to leave the house because I hate them. It must be the warmer weather :(

I have Googled around and found this product on http://spiderrepellent.co.uk which claims to keep spiders out of the house. My question is, Has anyone tried this spray? and if so could you tell me if it does what it says on the label. I REALLY HATE SPIDERS

    Thank you,
    Diane :)
