Sonic Spider Repellent & Spider Removal (merged threads)

Options
Hi there, does anyone know if those sonic spider repellents you can buy actually work? I read conflicting reviews on Amazon about them so I was hoping someone on here had practical experience of them.

We have just moved house into a bungalow and it is a bit damp and there are some HUGE spiders in there. I am not a big fan of spiders and my other half is very phobic.

This is the one i have been looking at: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pest-Stop-2000-ultrasonic-electromagnetic-repeller/dp/B000FII400/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=garden&qid=1218709832&sr=8-2

but there is also this one with hardly any reviews: http://www.amazon.co.uk/SPecial-Ultrasonic-Electro-Magnetic-Repeller/dp/B0013BK6C2/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&s=garden&qid=1218709832&sr=8-8

thanks

Ben

  • Hi Ben,

I live in a bungalow as well. First year here we had mutant spiders - everywhere, especially creeping out from underneath the bath just as I am getting out:eek: . Last year I bought a sonic pest control, slightly different from yours but I can honestly say hubby has not heard me screeching in ages.:j

I think they are worth the money and from my experience it has cut spiders back by approx 98%. Still get the odd one or two per year but they are the small ones not the mutants.
  • thanks Frosty. Do you happen to know which model you bought?
  • I will watching this thread with interest. I hate spiders!
  • you can get some of those on ebay too....
  • My boyfriends mum got us a plug in thing from JML (not sure what its called as im at work and cant have a look) but it has a blue light to let you know its on once its plugged in. I have a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge phobia of spiders and we have had 1 in over a year where as before we had loads(think i nearly deafened my boyfriend) Its works great with ants and all other beasties too. His mum got us it for the ants as they were everywhere and i think we have seen 3 all year if that. I'll have a look when i get home as i cant see it on the website and let you know. xx

I was thinking more of whats a "sonic spider"? when I saw the thread . but sister is scared of spiders so I wlill ask her to watch this space:eek:
Don't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig
  • yeah i looked at one of those ultrasonic ones but apparently they only work in one room....you need something with electromagnetic waves to work in your whole house
i googled it and found an ok page http://www.getridofspiders.co.uk/ with info on spider repellers though you can't buy from there...worth a gander
let me know if you get something which works!!
  • my dog eats then, get a cat?
  • Yup - I hate them too. Luckily the cats eat them; the dog is too lazy. Not to sure about sonic things though. Does anyone know if the spider ones scare cats and dogs?
I once worked with someone who bought a sonic thing to scare cats from her garden and then used to sit sniggering in their garden as next doors dog wouldn't go outside as it was scared by the sonic cat scarer..
