  • Ive just rang powergen after there massive estimate mixup, and told them i want to pay for what ive used, not what someone who lives in a 20 bedroom barn with no windows would use!!

  • So, does £450 sound reasonable for 3 months or am I being diddled by Powergen?

Mine was not an estimate but actual readings so does that mean there could have been no mistake in the bill?

If so am I just being vastly overcharged?
    Irony.

Yes it does sound a bit steep. It works out roughly around £20 gas week and £18 electricity week, how many bedrooms are there?

  • 4/5 bedrooms and 3 reception rooms however, it is a new build so should be economical on heating and we don't use all rooms so electricity should be saved too.

Don't know if I can argue if it is actual readings as opposed to an estimate?

I am an at home Mum as well and I piad £102 for 3 weeks worth of gas with BG. I am now waiting for and dreading my electricity bill from Powergen...

    Time to switch!

That just seems so high. Do you have a massive house? I am with Powergen and pay £59 per month combined gas and elec for 3 bed semi with two of living here. Daughter leaves everything turned on ...
Last time I checked I was around £100 in credit in January.
  • I have just received my bill from Powergen too and it's £443 for 3 months!

I live in a 2 bed terrace with E7 heating (3 meduim heaters and 1 small one) I can;t believe that this is right. Have been around today and turned all the heaters right down - and they were only on a half setting to start with.

  • i hate powergen.......i hate them, i hate them i hate them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and even that is too mild!!

never had a problem with them before till i got my bank statement earlier this week, where normaly we would pay £60 pcm to them, this month they took out a MASSIVE £459 out of my bank account i don't even know if they can do that but it's outragious seeing as we were in credit with them for £240 and had asked them to lower my montly payment. now i have DD bouncing left right and center and no sign of ever getting my money back :(

i phoned c.s. where i was told IT'S NOT OUR PROBLEM by the man on the other end who found the whole highly amusing.........my bank charges are going up and up with no one takeing any action about it.

has anyone got any advice as to what i should do next?
