My billing is in a right mess with them, who do I write to at Powergen to sort it out, or is there no point, should I just move to a better billing company?

If you have online access send them an Email. When they reply there will be a phone number on it which gets you direct access to the people who can sort it out. Then switch away before they c0ck it up again.

If you are not on an online tarif then phone their cannon fodder number and keep complaining until you get through to someone who actually does something. At least its a free phone number.

  • Keep the complaints rolling in to Energywatch - some top bod offering £1k to charity if they are not at bottom of complaints league table by end of year!!

I'm on the energy online tariff and do everything online. I give them meter readings every 3 months and they also send a meter reader every 3 months.

It's should be all so simple, they get the readings either by me or the meter reader, do a few calculations and email me the link to my bill.

Yet every bill I have received from Powergen in the last year and a half has been incorrect. I've put up with their inaccurate billing as they still have been the cheapest supplier for me. But today, I've had enough.

Six emails backwards and forth and still they won't supply accurate figures, I've had to send them there own email from August which details the £50 per year discount on this tariff. It's just not worth the hassle and stress to deal with them any more.

Don't touch them with a barge pole!

I've decided to move to Scottish Power Online via Quidco, I'll sort out the mess when I have the final readings.

HA HA HA well it was my own fault, didn't keep track of everything and I wasn't paying enough (monthly on payment card). Ended up will a bill for £647. So I offer £160 per month til I catch up (whenever that might be). They said -

I am not able to agree to your proposal as you are due your next statement over the next few weeks. What I would suggest is that we spread the outstanding balance over 9 months and repay this along with the current consumption. This would be a monthly figure of £147 per month.

When I switched my gas and elec from powergen, I waited over 6mnths for a final bill. After numerous calls to their call centre who repeatedly said one was on its way, I received a demand for 6mnths gas and elec. Never got a bill and they said they were still supplying me! Having clarified they werent supplying me and numerous calls and emails later they finally closed my account down.

    Pure frustration!!

During one phone call to their indian call centre I demanded to speak to a manager and was put on hold. Instead of being put through to a manager I was connected to another customer by mistake ranting and raving!

Would not recommend them to anyone!
