Squiggly and mummysaver
I voted for the Kaiser Chiefs ages ago and also joined their site. The "Happy Birthday" was a video clip or whatever they called it with three of them saying Happy Birthday.
DD(14) thought it was fairly cool but not as cool as if they had mentioned me by name!;) She also wants to know if I am going to start wearing earrings again and can she see my jewellery box? Seems she does not like gold - only silver!!!!

What's a Goji berry and did I ought to have one?

Morning all
Dave is up and wondering around properly! More specifically, he wondered into the kitchen, moaned that I've hidden his sugary cereals and busted me for feeding him wholegrain bread all week :rotfl:I am so pleased as he definitely seems to have turned a corner. He just weighed himself and he has lost almost 2 stone in a week and a half  He didn't exactly have a lot of meat on him to start with! He reckons he's going fishing with his mate today - not taking any of his own stuff, just lying on a campbed under a brolly and chilling out by the bank. I'm not sure he'll manage it, but I've been instructed not to be such a mother hen  At least it seems to have cheered him up a bit.
I've been and done my shop, I'm going to get the bedroom sorted while The Patient isn't there to get in the way, then I think I might just spark out. I know I've been saying that every day, but something's always come up - I did make two fab draught excluders yesterday out of an old sleeping bag and old curtains.
Troo - fingers crossed for Ilfracombe
Cat - enjoy London!
Anniestar - Big hugs :grouphug: rest in peace, phoebe
Candygirl - Hugs, Candygirl's Dad and DD - get well soon :grouphug:
Morwenna - Don't know where you are, but I can assure you there are no yellw blobs in the sky where I am... just big grey things. :rotfl:
Big hugs to all who need one :grouphug:

Hi
Big hugs to Anniestar & to anyone else in need.
Decided to do liver bacon & sausage for tea, but have no liver so will pop to the butchers in a mo.
Katy phoned 2 days ago, she will not be back in the UK in Sept, her course over ran by 2 weeks & she still doesn't have her results yet, she will strat looking for a job once shegets her results so probably will be back in January, she's looking to work in London, so she can be near family & friends.
I have a little bit of savings so I'm hoping for a few lodger free weeks so we can do a bit of decorating.
I need to spend half an hour getting bitumen of my floor (hubby & BIL are roofing) before I go out.
Hugs Hester

at work not had time to read the thread. We have had an attempted break in at work over night. smashed the window in reception. it has made a terrible mess glass everywhere 3 huge bricks inside. but it looks like they were disturbed as nothing has been taken . it is a doctors surgery so police think they were after drugs.
hope they dont come back tonight
still had to work around all the mess as patients coming in but they have all been understanding as we are running late.
hope everyone is ok I will catch up later

Happy birthday elona.
Took little bear on his reins to the newsagents at the end of the street. It has been ages since his first trip, but I decided that his second trip should be without water wings and with all the rain I thought we may find ourselves swimming home.
He was gorgeous, after everything and smiling at everyone.
Today has been the first break in the clouds for a long time, so we shot out. However I didn't actually want anything, so we had the full performance of getting him dressed all the way to his trousers, finding his shoes, finding socks, putting them all on and trying to get the catch on the reins to work all to purchase... a 17p milky bar, and we already had one in the house. But it meant that he had a little bit of a walk. I suspect that we will have a good September, as it usually follows a rotten August, which is fine for me and little bear but awful for children on their summer holidays. I would be certifiable by now (actually I'm not sure that I'm not certifiable already - but in a good way).
I am so worried about the electricity and gas prices. This morning it felt so clammy and damp that instead of putting the immersion heater on for half an hour I actually put the central heating on, just for an hour. I've turned off the computer this morning instead of leaving it running while I went out and I am going round unplugging things. I am considering just how much power we use. There's the computer - usually there is at least one on all the time. Bedside lamp on all night for little bear - I think I will see if I can find a low energy alternative. I am seriously considering boiling a kettle to wash up if that is all I am going to do instead of putting the water on for half an hour. I don't leave the tv on standby, but I may have to start leaving the quiet radio on in little bear's room again at night as he is getting more nightmares and I suspect noise from neighbours is not helping.
Well, I have set the washing machine off (more power!) but I will be putting that on an airer or possibly risk the line. I've used white vinegar instead of comfort and last time I did that I had a much better result. It isn't very old style, I am sure, to throw away a lot of fabric conditioner but I could always donate to my sister in law. Of course, she takes Hyacinth Bucket as a role model so she may not want second hand fabric conditioner.
Evil cat has just stolen a currant off my plate. I had a slice of weetabix cake for breakfast and she has just stolen a currant from the morsel left over. It is not because she likes currants but because if she is irritating enough I will let her play in the garden. Sigh.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
......and floss are you from Preston too then?

Not quite, am on the same bit of coast as Whatatwit & Morwenna.......
:grouphug: for you & your dad & your DD - Has your dad got a pump-driver for his morphine? My dad had one for the last couple of months, but my mum only had morphine once, the liquid stuff, the day before she died.
Really must do some work......might have to ask ICT to disable internet..... but they would want to know why.....and then I can't look for stuff for my boss.....
:rotfl:
If anyone sees my light on again before 5pm, please shout at me to get off!!!0 -
