O/S Daily thread for weds 13th August.

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for weds 13th august. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELONA!!!!!!!!!! Hope you have a fantastic day hun x
Well here i am again up early for the olympics to start the thread going! i got a lie in of sorts today as the coverage didnt start until 2.50am latest its been so far.
didnt sleep to well as got woken a few hours into sleep by hysterical screaming from my youngest dd....god i flew into the room, she was screaming, crying, shaking and trying to say something.i eventually managed to calm her down and she told me the bumble bee stung her.i wasnt convinced but she showed me her hand and it was red so i looked around and bless her there was a wasp in the room.took about 40 mins to calm her down enough to leave her and abother hour or so until i was calm enough......i've not heard screams like it-really set my heart racing!
weather is appalling again...i also woke at midnight to a massive thunder and lightening storm.
in the end yesterday for tea we had mashed potatoes(homegrown),fine green beans(homegrown),yellow french beans(homegrown) and mr m's 50p sausages with a delicious onion gravy my dh made(homegrown onions)....was sooooooo satisfying knowing we'd produced most of the meal ourselves,i never tire of that feeling.then had strawberries and cherries for afters that i had got reduced.
lots of planning type stuff to get done today.....must vacuum and dust and thinking of taking dd2 out for the first time since starting toilet training!! no accidents at all yesterday :-)...need to decided on meals for the day but pretty sure it'll be something with mr m's 50p chicken!
lots of hugs all round as needed.....im off to readend of yesterdays thread now.

Morning learningtosave,
Woke up in the middle of the night after having a nightmare, but in a way it turned out nice because iv seen loads of the olympics its been so so good. Its always so upseting when all of the events are in the middle of the night. Roll on London 2012:j
Not much planned for today, taking the boys to the flicks to see wall e . Tomorrow is payday but there is no food in at all so will need to buy dinner as well. Yesterday we cooked a bbq under a brolly in the garden we did have a laugh. ohhhhhhh need to order the shopping just cant decided who to shop with mr t or mr a there is no longer anything in it. the decisions I have to make today how will I cope. I hope the rain hangs off as I plan on walking the kids to town as the bus is now £6.50 for a family ticket.
Hope you all have a lovley day. studentgirl0 -
Good morning Learningtosave and Studentgirl, and everyone that follows.
I'm off to work in a couple of minutes, but wanted to wish a good day for everyone and to offer (((hugs))) to those in need. I had the winning bid on my wedding dress on eBay last night, and I'm feeling rather excited!
Not a lot happening OS-wise, unless you count page after page of budgeting for various things - the wedding, the weekly shop, etc, and I have done about a month's worth of meal plans... I got a bit carried away in trying to make everything varied. I now have a puzzle book with prizes to be won for the times I have no meals to plan and get stuck on the station waiting for my train, like yesterday.
I was going to keep my Clubcard vouchers for the drinks for our reception next year, but the OH came up with a suggestion - to put the value of the Clubcards into a separate savings account for now and use the vouchers, as the value could diminish with inflation. So I'll be doing just that, and using the vouchers on my shopping tonight.
Have a good day everyone.
(((hugs))) Continually trying the Grocery Challenge. Gotta keep trying!0 -
Morning guys
Not too sure what the weather is going to do here, it's dry at the moment but no doubt rain will be on it's way
WM is on with all the bedding, the dog came and slept on our bed last night and the thought of getting back into it tonight covered in dog hair makes my skin crawl:o
Not too sure what's for dinner tonight, the cupboards are pretty bare so I think it'll be a make do tea.
Aussie - my sis is good thanks, she has moved down south a bit to Margret River (sp) the wine area apparently
Have a good day all
Redruby - Glad your ok, I don't think much of this weather down here can you do some kind of sun dance for us?0 -
Morning All
:bdaycake: Elona - Another Leo eh!
frugalswan - You have obviously not been listening to Martin enough yet, the trick with Clubcard points is to get a deal then you get usully 4 times the value of the vouchers. Have a look on the Clubcard page and see what offers there are atm.
Also enjoying the Olympics as awomke early, probably as I am not organised, my own fault, and quite unike me:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Thanks for the early birthday wishes.
:grouphug: to ALL and hope you all keep well while :grouphug:
Catch you soon. pray for some nice weather in Trooland

Donny-gal, glad I caught you before you leave - Happy Birthday for friday :bdaycake:

Bulletproof0 -
Morning all
:bdaycake: Elona, and another :bdaycake: for Donny for Friday
Learning, hope your dd is OK, there seem to be lots of wasps around. At our DGD birthday on Sunday, we were inundated with them. Incidentally, does anyone know what purpose wasps serve - I understand why we need bees, but wasps
Work today, so dinner is chicken chasseur done in the Remoska, I will set the timer to turn it on 45 minutes before we want to eat, and put the veg in the steamer.
Felt pretty rough yesterday, think I must have had a tummy bug, so spent a day lying about and not doing much. Feel much better today though.
Lots more friends requests on Facebook, just need to work out my way around there
Have a great day everyone xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever

Congratulations on winning the wedding dress Frugalswan :j
No rain here in Essex at the moment and was very lucky yesterday - got 2 loads of washing dry. Just about to hang another load out and out another in the machine.
Not much os today - have Tai Chi this morning then hairdressers this afternoon - want my hair to look nice for the wedding we are going to on Saturday.
Tonight will try and get some ironing done, leftover chicken turned into chicken rice for tea.
Off for a little surf now, must try and find your pictures Mioliere.

Oops, I went off to check a PM as 'tru' and forget to change back to 'troo'

I had to rush off for a mo, master troo forgot to make his sandwiches last night and his lift was waiting so I was buttering bread and he was chucking cheese on it
Happy Birthday Elona :bdaycake:
Hopefully we'll make it to Ilfracombe today. I don't care if it rains, I want to see the sea
Mr troo is messing up my OSing - I haven't got time to handwash clothes, sweep floors etc. He keeps wanting to 'do something' (don't be rude lol) - he thinks that as he's on holiday, we need to be out every single second of the day. I'm surprised he was happy to stay in for most of yesterday :rolleyes:I am a coffee bean0 -
Morning everyone
OMG it's dry outside  Let's hope it stays that way - fingers crossed
DD is at a sleepover at the IL's, so DH and I took advantage and went round the local for a couple of drinks - not very moneysaving, but very rare - there's a whole life that goes on a weeknight :rotfl:
Started DD's bedroom yesterday, my goodness it's been such a long time since it's been cleaned properly, I feel quite
Still I'll finish that when I get home from work.
The IL's have invited themselves round for dinner on Sunday  Still they're bringing a leg of lamb and a bottle of wine and pudding :T
Better go and get showered/dressed I suppose
Have a great day everyone (((((hugs)))))Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0
